Default Free live match widget - beta testing

    Hello people!

I would like to show you our free live match widget. It's a tool crafted for webmasters and we are now testing it.

    https://www.sportsplus.me/free-socce...e-match-centre

    What can it do?

It will let you embed past matches or live matches from the current season. On live matches, the widget updates live.

You can search by team, team and competition or match name.

    Know issues (tech):

Speed - we do not have enough data.
iOS responsiveness issue - currently being investigated and will be fixed asap.

    Know issues (data):

For matches from less known leagues, there might be some lineup errors sometimes (98% are correct). Again, this happens only on less know leagues.

I am really waiting for your feedback Thanks a lot!

    I like it.
Is there a connection to a feed?
The monetisation is through clicks to your website but not direct ads inside of widget? That is actually a good compromise I guess.

Would be good if you could add odds to the widget somehow, also I think It would be good to have a option for example to select all Premier League games where you could have all the most current games in that league in one place.

I do like the design/format though.

    Glad you like it!

The widget is taking data from our API, which in turn is taking data from another API.

There are no ads and that's a rule with our widgets, no ads whatsoever. In fact, I was thinking about letting people insert their own ads, but haven't discussed it with the team yet.

I can only add pre-match odds, but I am not sure where I will put that tab (on mobile it is already too narrow for my taste). Anyway, I thought about odds and they are on the to-do.

    Thank you!

The odds would be good, but if you put under odds your own links much less people would use it. Maybe that would be the right place for people to put their affiliate links.

Another thing: maybe there could be as optional dimension change, so it would fit to other designs. E.g. someone might want wide and short rectangle.

I think what Sherlock says about the odds could be the key, I am sure someone tried something similar a while back.

But if you could find a way for people to add their own affiliate codes for certain bookmakers I would imagine you wouldn't be short of customers.

Many tried, actually even livesport did it at livescore dot in. No success with it.

Plus with your own ads you can be in sh1t with compliance, because your ads appear on third party websites you have no control over.

it's very nice - I'll consider using it for some games.

However, it does take up a LOT of real estate on a page.
I'd be more inclined to use it if it was more compact.

    But- very well done.

You read my mind, I was thinking about it in the past months. An odds widget, but only pre-match, where people can select bookmakers and also include their affiliate link. If the demand is high, I can also get live-match odds.

    Thanks for the feedback!

We can add preset width sizes, height is adjusted automatically and we tried to make less bouncy when switching tabs.

However, if you contain it inside a column or a fixed space, the width will adapt.

I hope fixed width sizes will be ready today.

Just to be clear, you say it takes a lot of space, but where do you think it should be reduced? Width or height? Height can't be reduced since it will cause loss of information, or you will get a scrollbar in the widget - we tried to avoid scrolling.

The ideal..and indeed a nut.. would be simply responsive design so the frame would adjust somehow.
With live odds it would be a killer. I was thinking to develop something like that for myself, but I am giving up. I am getting old or something, too tired of devs and everything.

The width adjusts itself to the container (it's set to 100%) but anyone is allowed to modify it:

    style="width:400px" or style="width:70%"

Height is one problem, because at this moment it's working on auto-mode.

We can set a custom height, but that will mean you'll get a scroll bar.

About odds, I think it will be a totally different widget.

I would love to know what type of odds do you want (pre-match, live or both), what bookies (we'll make a list of bookies, but some of them should not make it to that list for obvious reasons - Bwin, for example) and if the widget should display also basic info, like live score, minute.

How your affiliate links should look like? We can let you use direct affiliate link to the bookmaker, only if it follows some already made footprints, or you can use a domain redirect (like bit.ly) on our side, where you will also have stats.

We cannot allow you to put any link, that's for sure. I think these two options are the only ones.

In the meantime, if you have some more feedback on this live score widget, please let me know.

"Yes, you will have to provide a link back to our site. Don’t worry, the code of the widget already includes our link. You are required to keep it intact."

another backlink scam masquerading as a service (unless that's a nofollow backlink?)

you're about 15 years late on this boat.

you do (of course) realize that anyone using your widget [w/ dofollow link] could likely get a search penalty for being part of a link-spam campaign, right?

Oh, how I love these topics

To be honest, I was thinking about letting people making a choice between dofollow and nofollow. I will put that option live in the next days, for both tables and live matches. It's fair to let people choose. And the code will come up with nofollow, by default. But as I said, this widget is in beta testing.

But what bothers me is the scam thing...

A scam is "a dishonest scheme; a fraud".

Please show me the dishonesty or the fraud going on with this? Should I list here all the sites doing it? No, I will not, because you already know how many sites are doing it. Of course, if others are doing it, it should not be considered a "non-scam". But I fail to see the "scam" involving this widget.

As for your last statement, I used to get sofascore tables and links like that, I didn't get any penalty. And they were (and still are) dofollow.

I would do my homework before calling something a "fraud", even in beta testing.

    Thank you for your feedback

a scam is a dishonest scheme.. seems like this fits the bill nicely.
Your thread title mentions "free" but of course having to give you a a link (which costs the webmaster link equity) is not free.

Let's be honest here, this is just a stupid, high risk ploy for you to build links.
you've been rumbled, and now you're trying to talk you way out of it with whataboutisms.

    'oh sofascore does it'

if you had done your homework you would not be in the live scores space, as it converts horrendously. You will find out soon. GL.

edit: Magic bullet = make the dofollow attribute on the link optional. If your widget provides value, webmasters will reward you, surely.. ?

edit: you guys with forum link signatures probably want to read the bit about forum sig spam in the above resource

Well, if I will be ****** like sofascore, I can't wait. But to get back to my "fraud" and me getting "rumbled":

Not sure why I'll get ****** by Google because I will let people choose what type of link will they use to link back to me (dofollow or nofollow). Not sure why others will get ****** (likely, as you said) because they are linking to me.

    Please explain.

Thanks for the tip about live scoring. Not needed, since I've been there a lot, but thanks anyway!

ddm, if you read carefully, I already said:

    1. the widget is testing now. we do not monitor backlinks at this moment, so anyone might as well delete it.

    2. the link back will be nofollow by default. there will be an option to add "dofollow" which you can check or not. I will post here once all the customization options will be ready (most likely in a few days).

I am more worried about speed and responsiveness. Again, I will repeat, since this is testing, we really do not monitor backlinks at the moment.

I really like it in general, but agree with those who think that it is rather large (mostly length-wise). I’d almost rather I could scroll through the information from top to bottom in a smaller window.
