    Default Affiliate commission cut

Had an email today from a casino I promote (and one of my personal favourites) saying that they are making a loss from my players and that I had 2 options, I accept HALF of the hybrid deal I was getting or just 40% rev share.

Does this happen to people often? First time it's ever happened to me and not sure how to feel about it haha.

That's the trouble with CPA, one of the two has a loss...
Or the casino is making more money on the CPA than your rev.share would have been
or the casino loses money on the CPA and has to end the deal

40% rev.share is still not bad

I'd be satisfied with that, personally. 40% revenue share is a good affiliate commission deal. Most casino affiliate programs will only offer something like 20% or 25% for the lifetime of your players.

    I have one that's 45% and I think the lowest is 25%.

    This happens.

Casinos evaluate deals. If they're making a loss on it then they'll try to change the deal. Their objective, of course, is to win something on a deal, not to lose.

That's exactly right and why I have never chosen CPA deals.

On a CPA that's exactly the program's intention.

Though, as far as rev-share, until you know what deductions your wearing from GGR, that 40% (or for that matter any commission %) could be stomped on soooo much, your left with sweet FA. A good example is Video Slots. Their 40% commission...is a joke.

When the numbers are crunched at VS, the average (true) commission received, is day-light-robbery @ approx 5.89%. I shite you not.

    So just be careful, mate!

Unfortunately for me the casino in question is VS. I was on €1xx + 30% and would end up with £88 CPA and for each £100 deposited about £9 from the 30%.

Thats a pretty big drop from that to 40% in my view.
Unfortunately VS seem to be cutting costs wherever they can at the moment, wouldn't be surprised if something is going on behind the scenes there tbh.

Who really knows, colin3005. Anything could be possible like they might be having financial difficulties.

Usually the deal change in this case should be for future players and not from existing players of which you already sent under the deal you had.
The casino can't change deal for existing players retroactive this is cheating. They should give you the options of course in advance so you can decide if it's worthwhile for you to keep promoting them on same level.

Regarding the 40% it's a good deal but if it's from loses so what's the point... you may want to check other brands because in the long term the casino shouldn't lose as long as you keep sending players, and if it's losing means something is not right with the casino!

brickharbor, i think that you should discuss this further in depth with your account manager.

VS = Videoslots? Where they charge like 90% fees.

I would try to keep the CPA, as RS doesn't make any sense with them.

VS suddenly had a lot of exposure at affiliate events, which is more a red flag than something else. Miles had big talk about going live in Denmark, Romania, etc, but so far none of that.
