Default Sponsored news posts now the number 1 marketing tool

So after today's update I noticed how news sites ranks for most of the top keywords not just in igaming but pretty much everything sold over the net, a media group making literally tons of mediocre posts with low content and little expertise leveraging the authority of news sites.. check it out, non of the top pages are even news any more.. weight loss pills, hook up apps, casinos etc..

Interesting, most of these posts are marked as "Filed Under: Sponsored Content, Sponsored" and the links are rel="nofollow sponsored noopener" so not sure how much SEO value do they carry for the sites that ordered it.
Otherwise it's impressive how well some of these low quality articles rank. Some of these large media outlets simply sell out and flood their sites with sponsored junk instead of quality editorial content.
Would be interesting to know how much the Observer charges for a sponsored post placement. Any idea?

It’s not about the SEO value. All the articles I’ve seen like this list some throwaway domain. It’s about being able to rank for any money term you want in a matter of days or weeks. Big affiliate companies doing this at scale are probably making seven figures+ a month.

re: cost - some publications offer packages of ‘x’ articles for x,xxx. I would guess you’re looking at $1,000+ per sponsored post. But with the popularity of this tactic, I could prices going much higher.

Ah they've cracked it. Finally Google has figured out the Holy Grail of searching and now delivers what everyone finds useful.

It's so nice to see it, after telling webmasters that they have to be EXPERTS in their field for so many years, that they've found the 1 website, that's an expert in EVERYTHING: From 'California Physics' (whatever that is) to 'Best Hook Up Apps for NSA casual and up' (huh?). These must be new searches cause I feel too old for them to even comprehend. However the Observer are an EXPERT on both.

'How to send a fax online' - I'm surprised this one is not a 'What is a fax?'. Again an EXPERT on sending faxes online

Overall Money is King. (or was it Content).

Few days have past and pretty much every sponsored content or paid advertising article is ranking for 50 sometimes 80% of the top 10 results.. Not just casino, but pretty much anything.. Extremely low quality content, same news sites.. Observer denver post first post, miami herald.. All linking back to each others articles pure spam junk and a industrial scale

The links to the casino's are affiliate links.. They are buying them for ftds not link value, same with weight loss pills, phones anything that now sells is being pushed by news sites and sponsored posts.. This is the new working spam tactic and last update gave them a massive boost

Google just posted: September 20th: Released the September 2022 product reviews update. This update applies to English-language product reviews. The rollout could take 2 weeks to complete.

Something is happening or they wouldn't have released 3 updates in such a short span.
