How to Target Some Countries, and Suppress Others

Hi all, Jack here again. I'll be launching my new site Slots/Bingo soon. My primary audience is in the UK, EU and maybe other non-USA countries. Can anyone tell me the most efficient, economical way to do this? I've heard of some WP Plugins that can do this, but I don't know. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

We have something like this we are implementing as well; to send visitors from some countries to targeted web pages.

If you have some web programming experience, you can implement something like this pretty easily (note, the answer is towards the bottom): http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...-from-their-ip

You'd just need to make a list of which countries you wanted to display which pages to based on the country codes. And use a snipped of code (php or javascript) to route the pages accordingly.

If you don't, I think your options would be to either simply block IP's to some regions at the server level, or pay someone to do an implementation for you.

I'm not aware of a way to route IP's at the server level (such as in .htaccess files) but there might be.

Note: no matter what you do it is impossible to completely block people out based on IP address if someone is willing to pay to connect through a proxy server, but for most applications that is a very small concern.

If you're mainly talking about geotargeting to show different content on the same page based on the country of the user (eg: different bonus tables for UK, Australia etc..) and using wordpress (as you mentioned WP in your post) then this may be of interest: http://www.flytonic.com/product/geo-target-plugin/
