    Default Up and down traffic

    Hi -

Is it me, or is anyone else seeing really choppy traffic currently. From really good days to poor overnight, then back up again. Not sure if its seasonal, or an SEO issue on my part.

Interested to hear if anyone else has this experience too?

    Thanks,
    Mark

It's been like that for a few weeks for me. From 6th to 11th over night then back to 6th all day until night again, but only on a few terms others staying still.

It's likely just google messing around again with a few tweaks or deciding where it should be for that term based on clicks and what not.

Hi Mark, you're not the only one, my traffic has also been very similar to BetSharks. Google used to be a lot more friendly in the past to people. Even this month is not off to the best start. It's also possibly because of the World Cup which only recently finished as some one else on here pointed this out to me.

    Hi Mark,

Hot summer in the EU (UK) continues, three weeks Worldcup just finished and holidays started... not to mention Google favouring brands opposed to reviewsites more and more in the SERPS.

So is your SEO the cause? Can be, but most probably not

    Cheers

https://www.semrush.com/sensor/?category=&db=UK - that's usually something good to check to see if Google are updating the serps

Serps are really strange at the min.

Loads of hacked sites. Not relevant results and I've got pages that dissaper then 're appear a few days later, then dissaper again. All a bit strange

Yep lots of hacked sites, many of which have my scraped content on before redirecting / cloaking to a ****** iframed template hosted by domains such as nice-casinos.com and itsmywaynow.com all featuring casinos owned by Affpower and the GameTech Group.

Hi Mark, you mean you're seeing worse than usual traffic during the nights only, or its up and down day by day?

Our daily traffic has been quite consistent over the last few weeks, but I don't really compare daytime traffic to night time traffic.

Could it be the after-effects of Mobile-first index rollout combined with the Speed update? Usually there's a lot of jumping around after an update/change before calming down and resuming normal positions.

Hi - it's day to day really - not a night / day issue. Usually its up for 3 to 4 days then I dip for a day or 2 then back up. It could just be normal deviations, but seems more pronounced than I've seen before. Might also be seasons stuff with holidays, world cup, weather etc.

Ah right, so nothing to do with Google updates etc then, others on this thread are referring to rankings rather than traffic, that's why I mentioned it. If your rankings are staying the same then I guess it must just be down to seasonal/weather/world up/holidays, rather than SEO on your part.

Yes to be fair its more a traffic issue than ranking i think. Position for most keywords is relarively stable though some are up and down. Thanks.
