Hosting for email newsletter

we are thinking about creating our own email operation for our subscribers data base, we are currently using 3rd party solutions (MySMTP, Basegrow etc ) and gradually aiming to step out of this and run the operation on our own servers,


- can you recommend a good hosting company for the Gambling niche ? (stable and good price-quality, IP flexability )
- would you absolutely recommend running it on a dedicated server or does VPS/Semi dedicated works )
we aim to send around 1- 1.5 million monthly newsletters

How about setting up an Amazon AWS instance and then signing up for Amazon SES to use within that instance? Seen as it's for bulk mailing though, you would most probably need to request for an upgrade of sending limits with SES.
