I have started my own portal site mainly to get on top of the most recent poker news.

How does one check there PR rating. This may be a stupid question but I am new as an affiliate

And what does it take to move up from a PR4 to PR5

You can check your PR by downloading the google toolbar, when you visit a website the PR will be displayed in the PageRank box.

No one knows precisely what it takes to move from a PR4 TO 5 but lots of relevant links should do it. Oh since your new try not to obcess over the pr of your website, pr dosn't mean anything anymore.

I also found this site and I hope it helps you with your site. Its called poodle and you just have to enter your link and it does a scan of your site and its suppose to show you if your site is easy etc...links found etc

That's true, PR is useless. You can view it on the google toolbar. It merely tells you how well your website links and is in the eyes of google...but high pr doesn't necessarily give you high serps so dont obsess about it.

Don't forget that Google has said that it's spybar has no relationship with page importance, and that it is for "entertainment only". You should also be aware that Google uses it's spybar to report on active sites, so if you have hosting problems, don't visit your site using a computer with the spybar installed.
