I have been thinking about what makes a solid casino comparison site worth partnering with from an affiliate perspective.

There are a lot of these sites out now and the quality varies quite a bit. Some are clearly just chasing rankings with thin content while others put genuine effort into accuracy and use experience.

What do you actually look for when deciding whether a comparison site is worth working with or linking to? Is it traffic, content quality, niche focus, or something else entirely?

Speaking as someone who builds one: the two-minute test that separates real from thin is to pick a brand you know inside out and read their page on it. Is the licence number printed, and does it match the regulator's register today — not last year's badge? Do payout claims say where they came from (operator terms vs actual tests), or are numbers just asserted? Are offers date-stamped as checked?

Rankings need a stated basis too. Everyone monetises — that's fine — but if the ordering claims to be about quality and visibly tracks payout instead, that tells you how the rest of the site is run.

The least useful signal is traffic. Impression numbers in this niche are heavily inflated by rank-tracker bots — we've measured queries where hundreds of "impressions" were machines polling positions, statistically obvious once you look at the day-to-day variance. I think everyone's approach varies, and like you rightly say, so does the quality.

We follow a distinct review process, which applies to every Bookmaker or Casino we onboard and it looks something like this:

Score range is 1-5 stars, anything we deem below 3 will not be partnered with as they are simply not good enough to recommend:

We then weight them across 6 categories which are: 1. Odds & Markets (25% Weighting), 2. User Experience (20% Weighting), 3. Trust & Safety (20% Weighting), 4. Bonus & Promotions (15% Weighting), 5. Payments (10% Weighting), 6. Customer Support (10% Weighting).

Every site that we partner with gets around 4-8 hours of real money testing where every single above category is tested and reported on. All review pages have a minimum length of 3,000 words with a target of 4.5k if attainable. We will also fact check any stats or numbers provided in the review, check forums for customer feedback and pain points and then publish the review.

So on our end, very detailed and rigorous process as these pages are purely built on trust along with test & learn.
