Completely not related. Someone has any experience with online hotel sites?
A friend of mine rents few detached houses (like Eco village) and asked to assist him with his site. He does offer on Airbnb, but the problem that many of those, Booking and such, completely strip the little guys.

I checked a bit and seems that serps are completely owned by those monster companies, Booking, TripAdvisor, Airbnb and the rest.

Anyone has any experience with that industry?
All suggestions are welcome.

(the goal is not something big, just to fill his 10 detached houses over the summer). That's all.

If you're talking about an owners site that should be a piece of ****, if you'll pardon the french. We do some hotel affiliate stuff, it's competitive but nowhere near as bad as igaming, but if you own the product it should be pretty easy if they put some decent effort in.

Tell them to use the fact that they're local to their advantage, write local content and guides, connect with local businesses, get listed on local info sites, sponsor local events etc..

I`m using Airbnb for two uears alredy, I don`t know who is the owner and everything, but I`m really pleased, I had always luck with guests and always get my money in time... Obout others can say nothing, didn`t try

My partner's parents own loirevalleygites.com - they use Novasol to list one of their gites through aggregators like booking.com & a load of similar European facing sites (the downside is you have to give exclusivity for a number of high season weeks per year ; and the commission is high as you'd expect) ; the other thing they are doing is Britanny Ferries / Holiday France Direct - which is straight affiliate CPA basis (though only if your properties are in France or Spain).

Seems that if you use one of the channel managers, then you don't need to give exclusivity...

I will know more in few days - in touch with few to check the market. But, for example https://www.littlehotelier.com/ and they have siteminder system which is basically integration with 100s hotel search engines to push your property. And it's automatically updates everywhere when a room is booked.
