Smile GPWA Times Magazine issue 43 now available online and at ICE and LAC next week!

I'm pleased to announce the digital edition of the 43th issue of the GPWA Times magazine is now available online. The print edition be distributed next week at ICE London and the London Affiliate Conference. Please be sure to provide your mailing address if you would like to receive a hard copy (see details at the end of this announcement).

The new issue is titled the "iGaming Affiliate Survival Guide," because it features a series of articles from seasoned veterans of the industry who offer advice on how we should be adjusting to the times.

Our cover story, written by Lee Gwilliam, VP of Operations at the Gambling.com Group, provides some advice for smaller affiliates about taking on the challenge of going head-to-head with super-affiliates in a mature, highly regulated market. AffiliateINSIDER founder Lee-Ann Johnstone is back with an article about strengthening the relationship between affiliates and affiliate managers, while Vin Narayanan discusses how affiliates needs to adapt their digital marketing strategies in order to appeal to a growing audience that doesn't remember a time without the internet or a mobile phone.

Along with our usual departments including From the Forum, the GPWA Poll, APCW Wall of Shame and photo galleries from both the Lisbon Affiliate Conference and SiGMA, we also present in-depth affiliates interviews with Askana Radaman (GPWA member name Askana) from Belarus, Heather Gartland (Topboss) from South Africa and now living in New Zealand, and Tony Mace (BetSharks) from the U.K. For affiliate manager interviews, we speak with Valery Mukhina from Alpha Affiliates and Lars Roman from N1 Partners.

You can read the 43rd issue of the GPWA Times Magazine online now on the GPWAtimes.org website. Just follow this link:

Any idea when paper copies of the last one from 5 months ago are getting posted out Michael?

For those that have not already had issue 42 posted to them, it will accompany issue 43 in a mailing expected to be in the post near the end of February. As an aside, issue 42 was first available in print format a little over three months ago rather than five months ago.

Hi Michael, were these sent out? Is there a reason they stopped being sent out after they were published?

    Thanks

Very professional, that a member has to wait at least 3 weeks for a reply. I know, removing a post, this can be done within a second. Writing a post, this is more work and especially, if it is meant seriously and if it is dedicated as true help.

And on a side-note it's very interesting, that the Magazine owner, who started this thread, was online yesterday.

But instead of replying to a honest member, who is obviously seriously interested in the Magazine, a poll was opened for "How confident are you that your toilet paper is clean and up-to-date?" or was it another title? I can't remember, sorry, if I am wrong with that, but anyway, in my opinion it's the duty of a thread starter to read his own threads.

    Hello?!

Otherwise it's completely worthless to read them, even to create them, and it's also very disrespectful not to read the own threads and not to reply there.

A mistake, again and again made also by some representatives.

I apologize that I did not see all of the earlier posts in this thread until just now. The posts were brought to my attention this afternoon.

And I obviously need to also apologize that the magazine mailing was delayed. The person that has put the mailings together for us for the last couple years was someone who worked part-time for us, but they recently got a full-time job (I contributed a nice recommendation to the process), and so the mailing has not gotten put together as originally planned.

Currently I do expect it will be delivered to the postal service in about four to five weeks (originally when I made this post I expected it would be a couple weeks, but that has proven to be too optimistic with the need to get new help). And I think the overseas mailing process ends up taking about two weeks once the mailing is delivered to the postal service (I am also updating this, because while two weeks is about right for some countries, for other countries it can easily be an additional week or more beyond that).

If you read the last post I made carefully, you would have seen that in that post I explained that it would probably be the end of April or later based on both preparing the mailing and delivering it to the post office, and then the postal service for overseas mailing typically taking about two weeks, and frequently taking longer based on the recipient's country. However, since I now know my prior estimate was too optimistic, I am editing my prior post to reflect what I know today, which is that with different staff involved in the mailing, it is taking longer than I previously expected. Previously I had expected delivery by the very end of April or early May. Now I believe it will likely be about one month later than that.

I did read the post (before it was edited) that's why I put on my reply that it still hasn't arrived. So guessing they haven't even been sent out. By the time we get them, most of the stuff is probably irrelevant. I think the last magazine I got in the post was November last year and there has been several released since then. I am only on my phone so cant look at the archives on here but surely it cant be that difficult to put some magazines in the post?

Everyone on our mailing list has been mailed a magazine. The last of them went out on 10 May, about a week later than I had estimated before. As I previously stated, the delivery time for international magazine mail is optimistically two weeks, but it can easily be three or even four weeks or even worse. If someone has moved, and the mail is returned to us, it can take as long as six months before we receive the returned magazine.

In terms of the next magazine, it will be published in the second half of July, and I expect it to be mailed in August, and probably received in September by most members who do not pick it up at the show in Amsterdam.

Thanks Michael. A magazine published on the 30th of January was finally sent out on May 10th, almost 100 days after it was published. Can the next lot be sent out earlier, like a week after its published?

I explained above exactly when I expect the next issue to be distributed. Quoting from my previous post:

Generally we make announcements of a new issue of the magazine in a forum post as soon as the digital version is available, as we did for the last version of the magazine which was made available online on January 30th. The print version was not available until sometime after that. Also, the print edition is always released and first made available at industry trade shows. So logistical considerations with our limited staff mean that mailings do not happen until following the trade show where a magazine is first released. That is why I provided the estimates given above for distribution of the next issue of the magazine.

Hopefully we will not have the same sort of staffing issues we did this time that delayed the process by over a month.
