Coming back to affiliating after a long time: some questions

I’m posting this in here as I’m coming back to casino promotions after 10+ years and, looking around, I feel like a noob:

- Every casino program I used to promote successfully is now either black-listed or gone. And the ones that are reputable seem to be highly restricted in terms of their geo. Who are your favourite programs to promote?
- Promoting to UK players has changed big time. All the big brands in the UK seem to have totally screwed over affiliates to the extent that I’m wary of even promoting in the UK. Is it worth it? Are there any good UK operators for affiliates?
- What do I need to do to get up to speed with new privacy laws? Any links or podcasts you’d recommend to make any site safe for promotions?

There's a name I've not seen in a while - nice to see someone from the old PAL days.

Main changes in the UK market:

- Still plenty of money to be made, possibly more than ever, but way more competition so it's harder to get a slice of it.
- Taxes take a big cut these days.
- Tons of brands have closed, screwed people over or been bought / merged. Although tbh that's not exactly a new thing, it was happening 10 years ago.

The main thing you'll probably want to brush up on are the new compliance rules - have a look at the CAP guidelines, that'll fill you in.

Key points:

- Needs #ad
- Various other bits and bobs such as 18+ T&Cs apply etc..
- Must show sig terms in view of the offer + one click to full terms
- Can't appeal to children, this includes daft rules like "no slots that look like cartoons" and "no using sports personalities"
- No time sensitive CTAs such as "play now" or "claim today"

That's not exhaustive, but should give a rough overview of the current nonsense.

As baldidiot said the biggest change last ten years has been compliance. There are still plenty of brands to work with but the bigger ones are not worth touching until you have enough traffic again to send them a minimum quota otherwise they will shut you down within 6 months if they accept you in the first place.

Plenty of white labels and smaller brands operating but the turnover rate nowadays seems to be higher than even so I wouldn't rely on any of them or go too heavy on RS with any deals. In Particular there are tons of Progress Play white labels now but they are pretty poor for sports and we see very poor value from them so perhaps avoid onboarding too many of those. I usually request listing fees now for any white label brands as a test of whether they are serious and to cover the costs if they are poor or close early doors.

365 are still the best if you have an old account you can reactivate or get yourself a new account. Their saturation levels are huge now though so it is harder to send FTDs to them but of course worth it when you do.

Ah PAL - yeah, that’s a wasteland now. Nice to be recognised though and thanks for taking the time to write some thoughts down. I’ll go through CAP.

Seems like it’s really tough to find reputable programs now too!
