Traffic Increase But Conversions Low

[ck8795]

I am going to throw this one out here. My traffic is increasing steadily and is up to 150+ uniques per day. My targeted keywords are being met and have some decent ranking, yet the conversions are not what I am expecting.

I know that the traffic I have is not overly huge yet but I am expecting more than what I am receiving as far as sign ups.

For example one room had 200+ hits for exact keyword through all the search engines and I obtained 7 players. Mind you I have re organized the pages the last two weeks to see if this makes any difference......just thought there would have been more.

Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated

So I dont currently have the traffic to back up what I say with any data... But figure out why your visitors aren't converting... Are they not able to figure out how to download? Are they worried about entering their email address? Are they as confused as the rest of us on deposit/withdrawal options? Try to answer those questions and prepare your visitors for the process ahead... See if that improves conversions.

Thanks Matt. I switched up the pages, I assume everyone actually reads the stuff I write so now I have taken and put everything they need in front of their face. All details in a quick little summary with as few words needed as possible along with download buttons. Hopefully this will make a difference. I also never thought about the deposit thing. I have all my deposit withdraw methods at the very bottom of the page. Maybe just adding small logos would help.

Like we talked about earlier, you really gotta throw in the bonus codes and whatnot in people's faces. A lot of people -- myself included -- just skim through reviews, no matter how organized and detailed they are...they normally will look at the basics, check the room images you've thrown up, and proceed from there.

If your codes and everything are scattered -- or maybe even too small to read it'll cause potential players to leave the review or just do a direct type-in of the site itself, leaving you with nada! So make sure everything is always RIGHT IN THERE FACE -- I personally love having big images and full descriptions in place in my reviews...people are somehow enamored with images, its just a proven fact on the intrawebz, lol.

Some text descriptions and bold-faced bonus codes don't hurt either, though. Keep em at the top of course and organize them as best as you can without them being too cluttered. I like what your doing with your reviews, and I especially love the table tables describing the quick facts (bonuses, licensing info, etc) about each room. Keep it up Cheryle, you'll be bringing in the RMP's in no time.

Great advice. I've been worrying about getting traffic, but now I've got to optimize the conversions of the traffic I'm getting.

Matt, for a casino portal what's the most important information that triggers a player conversion? AceHigh mentioned that images (ie screen shots) were important, and I can see that quick, accessible, and concise information is important, but what comes first in priority?

1. Bonus information
2. screen shots
3. depositing and withdrawl methods
4. prizes, raffles or jackpots (progressive)
5. software used
6. Game review text

What is the highest priority? and is there anything I'm missing?

Thanks

Again, I'm not the guy who should be answering those questions. I finally figured out some stuff with my sports sites just as the rug was pulled out from under me... now I'm working on traffic for casino.

But... to take a stab at your question... It depends on your audience. You need to find out the demographics of people visiting your site. How are they finding your site? A quick analysis of the keywords driving traffic is probably the most important piece of information you've got to answer this question.

But the generalities Acehigh made are right on. Make sure the important information stands out. If a clump of text is too long (for example, a long casino review) it wont get read. Great for SEO - but not ideal for the average web surfer who skims. Whitespace is essential to break the page into readable bits.

Last... and I can't believe this works - but it does... You need to tell folks what to do. If you dont tell them to "click this link" they probably wont. Remember we are still salespeople, even though we try to disguise it by providing the information to help our visitors make informed decisions.
