I would like your thoughts or feedback on the following topic: "Deposit Match Bonuses vs. Cashback Bonuses".


What do you think players prefer?


I am not a BIG punter but do enjoy a few hands of Blackjack every now and then. The few times that I have deposited at certain brands, I have never taken up the Match offers due to wagering contributions and limitations on table games etc.


My previous experience at an MGS brand, we never granted a match bonus higher than 25% on any of our retention offers (the only change to the promo would be the bonus value) and players were happy with that. But then again that was the South African market and player retention and management was a lot easier.


Now managing RTG brands and other markets/territories, it's a whole different ball game.


I get daily retention offers from competitors (same platforms) ranging from 50% Match Bonuses to 455% Match bonuses. Some stating "No strings attached" other presenting the t's & c's.

We all know that match offers tie players into wagering and all kinds of restrictions. But what is the perfect % match offers that would appeal to the player? or would the player rather prefer a smaller % cashback on the bust deposits?

So, any suggestions or thoughts?
