What do you think about working Social Networks?

We are thinking in to work with social networks with our website, but, we would like to know what is your opinion about it.

tried it.. for me wate of time.. some people swear by it.. however time vc quality traffic was better spent on organic

I once thought they were the bane of society and the world would be better off without any of them. But that was a poorly educated view. Yeah there is a lot of rubbish on them in general (I'll venture to suggest 90% of it)...but, for example, I found a dog on its own late one afternoon a few weeks back at the local lake. Scared, shivering. Took a photo, had it put on FB ...and an hour later the dog was back with its owner that lived 5 miles away.

But none of that is what you meant, right.

It probably depends to an extent on what subject you cover on whether it's worth making any attempt at widening social presence. Personally I wouldn't be going into it with any expectations of traffic/visitors, but for other reasons.

At high level and on balance, you're probably better off focusing on a site, its content, and presentation. But there would be no harm (and some potential benefits) to at least building a presence and gently maintaining it if you have time (and it's allowed/not going to be shut down anyway).

It always depends - in some relations social media can be very useful. But you have to be aware of the details beforehand, and make a plan accordingly (whether it is also useful in a market-specific way, etc.).

Social networks can work, but it depends on how you use them. It still works okay for me, but certainly not as well as it used to. You have to keep in mind though that the competition in our industry is much stronger than it was from even just a few years back.

social networks are great but from my short experience, didn't see much effect, unfortunately.

First of all social networks are for your website's users, it's a great tool to build trustworthy brand. Social pages are about providing latest updates on your website and communicate with audience. Besides, it's valuable for E-A-T.

Social networks have mainly affected results in Bing, Yahoo and DuckDuckgo but it has only small impact on Google SERP.

I really can't understand how people swear by it. Have seen people getting hundreds of FTDs or Regs but honestly, it's an area only for real ''experts''. Would love to hear others opinion.
