I believe commas are the correct way as you can also have keyword phrases. commas distinguish single keywords from keyword phrases.
casino, casino bonuses, deposit, deposit methods, slots, bonus slots
this is how I always understood it to be anyway.
I have been taught to use phrases instead of single words. Do not use the same word in more than 3 phrases. The first keyword phrase should be
the title/file name of the page. Therefore, page url: /play-craps-quiz.html will begin with the keyword phrase, play craps quiz, and continue with 4 more keyword phrases. Be sure that the keyword phrase you choose appears in your headline, first 90 characters and about every 100 words thereafter. Works for me, but my hosting company offers "Analyze It" that checks each new page and gives a pass if acceptable to SE's

Google nor Bing use the keyword meta tag for positive ranking and a 'stuffed' meta keyword tag can hurt your ranking in google.
Bing does not care if you stuff the keyword meta tag.
IMO, you don't get anything good out of a Keyword meta tag and it can hurt you if you abuse it... So I am very careful about only adding the keywords the page is targeting.
In my opinion time spent on a keyword meta tag is wasted time and effort.
Oh Ya... the standard format is a comma and a space.
Agreed. I only use the very most relevent keywords to avoid any punishment. Main majority of traffic comes from the big G anyway and they don't use them.

Yes, use commas, phrases relevant to headline, keywords. But don't over stuff the meta box with keywords
I must agree with lots0 - keyword meta tag is not relevant anymore and putting keywords in it means telling your competitors what you are targeting, that's pretty much it. Useless and potentially harmful. You'd better concentrate on your title, headers, text relevance and usability. The rest will follow.
Just a quick question :
If Google and the other search engines do not take care of meta KW's, then why we have to be careful for keyword stuffing!?!? so it should not make any difference whether too much KW's or not! Right ?
Here's the thing ... application of common sense.
Do you REALLY think it makes any difference whether you use commas, phrases, stuff keywords, or anything else in the META?
How can any serious search engine apply anything except a fraction of a weighting as to what is in there?
Of course SEO "experts" will argue with each other and make important sounding statements to pretend that they have industry information that makes a difference - but it's all smoke and mirrors.
For what it's worth - I put half a dozen or so keywords that match the pages text, usually separated by commas.
So a euro2012 preview on Spain v Portugal will have euro2012, betting preview, football, spain, portugal
Why? Because I always have and habit keeps it going I guess.

I haven't used a keyword tag in years. Many, many years. Don't need it.
does not make difference either using commas or not.... we can use commas only to show others that these are keywords i,m using and trying to be on top on these...
can't others tell by the title tag, desc tag and the h1-h6 tags which kw's are being targeting?
