Jelly anyone?

Hi There,

Has anybody heard of Jelly?

I was watching the news over the weekend and one of the twitter founders was talking about Jelly. This is a new social mob tool that uses pictures to interact.

Has anybody tried it yet? I am playing about with it; let me know your comments!

I just looked it up. It seems to be more than a picture interaction app.

It basically lets you ask a question about something with a picture, a map or via text and someone with the app somewhere can answer your question.

Seems like it would be good if you're in a foreign country or somewhere you're not familiar with.
I just downloaded it and will use it on the weekend. Will post with an update next week.

I like butter on the bread before the jelly and honestly, to me jelly and keyboards just don't mix well....lol

Not a whole lot of info out there about this yet honestly. Even the wiki doesn't explain much, and it appears a bit of funding has flowed in and not many have any idea what they are funding.

Seems like it would be good if you're in a foreign country or somewhere you're not familiar with.

Hey Anthony and Michael, I am willing to risk getting jelly on my keyboard, and write an in depth review for you, but according to Renee, I think you should send me to a foreign country....I am not familiar with SA or NZ so I think one of those countries would be best.

Yeah don't bother coming to Oz or anything. Not like an Aussie suggested it would be handy in a foreign country or anything.

Yea it has a lot of text for a just a picture interaction only app. You get a lot of random information LOL

It seems to be pretty straight forward. The way this works is that you get a question, this question you can answer, forward, you can classify it as Good, share it, view answers, view the facebook or twitter page of the person that left the questions.

I will start using it and see how it goes

So I guess I should ask if there really is an OZ and if the guy is still hiding behind the curtain.

So if you ask a question in Spain will the text that comes with the answer normally be in spanish? From the reading I have done so far, this seems like it might be appeal to those needing directions, (but I think google maps does a good job of)

I can see it as an advertising vehicle, to a degree, such as asking about restaurants and getting coupons, but there are already plenty of apps that do that....

The viability of a service like this will likely depend on how soon it gets spammy, (not really if but how soon), but it does sound like it has potential.

I would guess that the text that comes up would be in whatever language you have downloaded the app in, but I could be wrong. I suppose if you're getting an answer from someone in spain and they see your question is in english, they may reply in english.

Maybe I will ask it where in the city I can get the cheapest Lindt bunnies for easter

Under the specifications of the app it shows language English, so I can assume that for the moment that is the only language available. I mean you can write in any language you prefer, but not sure when the right person will come along and reply.

I will ask my friend in Spain to try it!
