    Default Numbers Dispute

We have had an account for 6 months with an affiliate program (whose name we will keep confidential for now), and we have sent dozens of new players. Surprisingly, our revenue is always negative. We suspect they are playing with the numbers, and we'd like to approach this in a delicate way.

    1. Has anyone else encountered this issue? If so, how did you deal with it?
    2. Is there a way to go about checking the facts?
    3. What is the best way to approach the problem with the program?

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

    Hello,

the best thing always is to call a spade a spade, because otherwise it's hard to find other webmasters who have exactly the same problem.

If you have one winning player, then it is possible, that he is winning 6 months big and in this way destroying your earnings.

If most players are winning 6 months, then it's a little bit "magic", because the 4-Sigma (standard deviation) not only works for the game, for the lucky and unlucky days of the players too and will take the money back to the casino latest after some months if you look for a group of players as one unit. The possibility is higher then 99,7%.

Is it possible that one player is wiping the rest out?

I would suggest testing yourself. Get someone you know to sign up and deposit and see if it tracks properly. Then you will know for sure.

The problem is that the program is not ready to give details on each player's winnings.

We also think that it's very unlikely that we are still negative after all these months. Thanks for the information.

Thanks, Renee. It's a good idea and we'll try it ourselves. However, since we aren't big players, I'm not sure how much we can learn from this.

I would speak to them directly and ask them how its' possible. If every player is tracked, they should be able to pull a report of all your players and give you details of the exact big wins that are bringing your revenue down.

What about giving the stats here? Even if you don't want to name the program, did you speak to your AM yet?

In the gamling industry math is one of the most important things. And i don't mean counting the bills.
This an affiliate company have to understand, and if a decent webmaster became headaches because of "unlikely" (math) things, then it should not be a problem for a reputable affiliate program to take the time to look into the players record to give the webmaster a résumé of the data.

I repeat: With a probability bordering on certainty a group of players (without ONE BIG winner) have to be profitable after 6 months, latest 9.

There is still a math possibility of lower then 0,3% that this not happened, but then you can hear from everywhere the voices: "There seems to be a jinx on him."

It's like a roulette gambler. If he is playing with the Martingale or Labouchère, he can stay in the winning zone for weeks, can win 6 or up to 18 (!) times the amount he deposit before Zero is coming to give his winnings AND deposit money the guillotine within ONE spin, if Zero is falling unlucky. After this unlucky Zero spin the gambler has no chance and will lose for safe after this quick all his money. It has to do with math.

This should be an example, that the border on certainty exist but the border is big enough to open a bear garden every time, when the roulette ball is spinnning, the cards are dealt or a slot machine is hypnotising the gambler, sitting with champagne in front of his screen.

It shouldnt matter how big your play is. If it tracks properly you will know.

Also, I'd just like to point out that if you have one player who has large bets on a table game, it's possible they are winning big amounts from single bets. So keep this in mind too. Depending on the software, jackpots wins may contribute to the wins. Another thing to look at is deductions. Are they causing the stats to go negative?

I don't think it's a bad idea to contact the affiliate manager and ask them for a little insight. They should be happy to help.

it depends on how much drill down data is available but most times you can come to a reasonable conclusion by examining it.

for example, sometimes it looks like the program steals a big player but a close at the players deposit history reveals their deposit amounts were subsequently less and less, from that one might reasonably conclude they got sick of losing and decided to cool it.

Regarding the extra insight, we already contacted the affiliate manager and asked for some insight about the players over 2 weeks ago and he didn't reply on that yet, this is why we started this post....

Update: Surprisingly, right after we wrote the original post, we noticed that our numbers this month have increased with the affiliate program...! Interesting.

We'll keep you posted as to the latest update.
