    Default Socks for Service Members

My Godson is a 21 year old Marine stationed in Kuwait, eventually onto Afghanistan. The issue is that his father asked him what he wanted for Christmas and his answer was socks. Apparently, they don't wash them there - wear them, then have to throw them away. (I know this to be true because a physician I met back from his tour in Iraq said his biggest treatment issue were foot problems). Before I go on and on, here is the post:

Over at Stovebolt.com (a Chevy/GM truck fans forum) they are doing their Annual Socks for Servicemembers Fundraiser . Last year they were able to buy & send 700 pairs of socks overseas to the military personnel. Here's the write up from last year if you care to read about it. Even if you donate $5 the distributor will sell them three pounds worth of socks, yes the company they are buying them from will sell them sell socks by the pound.

So if you want to donate anything here is the Link , when the page opens look to the left side of the page.

Also if you help with a donation for the SOCKS, PLEASE be sure to let them know that you are a GPWA.org Member, that way not only you get recognition for the donation but also so does GPWA! (You will note the Paypal donation button).
I donated today as a member of GPWA as "Ziggy" and requested our own group to be listed under - thanks!
