Default Bob R and CAP Spam

    Friends,

Today I started noticing that members of the CAP Management Team are spamming the APCW Facebook pages with links and promotional material for the roll out of a new site. Given the history between APCW and CAP I find this to be at best very poor decision making, and at worst a provocative case of spamming.

I encourage you all to check your Facebook and MySpace accounts to see if your personal pages are now part of the new " CAP Spam Promotionals Division ". If so, you may want to do some house cleaning. I did post an APCW Promo on Warren Jolly's page... which was removed within 10 minutes... Go figure?

I have removed Bob R, Warren, and Yvette as my "friends" because I don't trust them to stop this irresponsible and instigating behavior. I thought that the smoldering remains of what was left of CAP would have learned their lessons and planned a little better before such an undertaking... but I am always surprised when it comes to this crew.

    =================================

You know, the thing is I completely understand the use of social networking for marketing. We post videos to our own profiles every week, and our friends can see them there.

However, it would be totally different if I tried to promote the APCW on Warrens page. Can you imagine what he would do? Oh, wait... we don't have to imagine! We have already seen!

I got a post on my facebook wall from Bob too.

    My response?

I suggested it was not a good way to build a reputation in a post to his wall made in response and included a link to this thread in that post of mine.

    Welcome to the GPWA Bob!

Do you have any social networking SEO tips for us?

    Thanks,

I am so annoyed with the whole facebook marketing as of late, I get these jerks asking me to joing a group or become a fan and I ignore it only for them to do the same damn request again the next day!! I myself would not post on someones wall ever but I don't know the situation here so I cannot comment.

This looks more and more like girls fighting in mud.
    "ah, you spamed b****"
    "no, you was first b****"
It makes look both portals really bad when you are fighting like this way.

Come on, just keep business going on both sides and that's it

100% agree - I also don't believe its spamming at all - By becoming friends with some one you open your self up to letting them post on your wall - At the same time you can just delete it - No big deal - As far as I could see it was just a post on my wall saying what do I think of the new PAP -

At the same time I have had loads of iGaming people try and make friends with my non gaming friends on FB but c'est la vie - No big deal I just think they are a bit silly thinking that is the way to build business.

    Unbelievable.

At risk of starting World War 3 allow me to say that the "new guy" with 20 posts and a year of mostly lurking probably isn't the most qualified to give advice on an issue that's been raging out of control for the past 5+ years.

None of you talking about stopping the "fighting" have been targeted as the victims of these peoples actions, although it is remarkably noble of you to ask those of us who have been victimized to just 'take it' in order to maintain decorum.

If we were at a conference and I walked up to one of you and started throwing blows at your face you would be in a fight whether you wanted to be or not... whether it looked professional or not... And you would all have a choice to make: Let me beat on you or fight back.

And Alex, o please.... You would support the CAP Crew if they held a Puppy Bar-B-Que to raise money for the Church of Satan. The entire time Cardspike was being investigated you believed every word that Lou and Warren said. You discounted and underminded every word that APCW and GPWA said. You made post after post stating that our investigation was baseless, untrue, a witch hunt, and needed to stop immediately. You were wrong. And the only reason you stopped posting was when the admissions came.

If... after all of that... you don't think the management of CAP specifically targeting the personal pages of APCW leadership to promote their website without consulting us was spamming, well, my friend I hope the kool aid was delicious.

Maybe it was an open invitation to visit a site they had just totally revamped and an olive branch, inviting you to contribute or whatever anytime you like?

Possibly they wanted you especially to see the positive changes that happened, and invited you to comment/critique because they value your professional opinion?

Maybe, just maybe, this was a well intentioned way to reach out and renew contact and cooperation?

Sorry, but guys with only 20 postings and one year looking around ARE YOUR customers. It would not be possible to take these fees from the companies if guys like me (or any other from this mass of visitors and members) would not be available through these fighting sites.
Just run your brain on and think about it. Sorry, but your comment is a bad joke and only possibble in our business where some guys tthink that anybody care about their fights with other companies. Never heared from BMW sometthing like "Mercedes was such a bad bad boy". Why? Because tthey ttake their business serious and don't think that the world it just all about them.

What time did Warren call you last night, Dom? I am shocked how willing everyone is to just forget all that happened and jump back on board the CAP Crazy Train. They lied, they bullied, they tried to monopolize, and they mainatined their deceptions until the truth was so overwhelming that it couldn't be denied.

Thank GOD we were able to produce that last piece of evidence with Warrens name on it addressed to CAP. If not I truly believe that many of you would still be following CAP like rats after Peter Piper. If not for that document then the APCW and GPWA would be called "liars" and I'll bet my butt none of you would be ready to jump back on our bandwagon right now.

So, Dom, why do you suppose Warren took down the APCW Promo on his page within 10 minutes? Do you really believe that Bob or Yvette do anything wthout his knowledge or direction? Please, this is so obvious that the only way you don't see it is if you're deliberately looking the other way.

Not their way of conducting business must keep slithering in tall grass. Rather not add the fuel to start another CAP bonfire so will keep it there.

Well, I think I have to agree with you that is certainly what it looks like on the surface.

And I have to agree with you here too. If you look around on these forums you will see that I pretty strongly support the right of folks here to voice criticism and I generally strongly defend the right of everyone to do that. Post count, in my mind, is definitely not a criteria for the relative importance of poster's opinion. Everyone's opinion is important.

But I do think there is an issue here that is a legitimate one, even though I also agree you are correct that it is not appropriate for companies that are competitors with one another to be the ones to initiate such conversations.

So, I think there was a legitimate reason for J.Todd to be displeased, and there are more details that I think would be fine for me to air if I was not part of the management team at the GPWA and Bob was not part of the management team at CAP, but we are, so the discussion is inappropriate as you say.

For that reason I'm going to close this thread. If anyone has something further they think is important to say, just let me know with a pm, and I'll consider reopening the thread for you.
