Twitter Account Suspended

I've just had my twitter account of 12,000 followers suspended for violating twitter rules.

No specific reason given, no warning given.

I contacted twitter support last night as soon as it happened but no response yet.

If anyone can offer any advice or a way to get it touch with someone at twitter I'd be extremely grateful!

Gooner, I've been doing the same thing for a long time now, post a few links to the tips on my site everyday. Get a really good click through rate on my links and some decent interaction, especially when we get a win.

I post the odd direct affiliate link on twitter, rarely more than one every week or two, but I've a feeling that could be the reason they've suspended me right now. I never push anything aggressively.

That could be it, I've always done follower churn to build followers so follow a few hundred people every now and then.

Its something I've been doing for years and actually doing it less than ever recently but it could definitely be the cause.

Just frustrating not to be given a proper reason or a chance to fix it.

No, if u make to many actions in a short time on twitter....follow/post/retweet u get a kick from the system - but u can still login and explain the problem or what happens... I got my accounts unsuspended under 5 minutes.


In this case,u get "maybe" to many reports from other users ...

I think this might have got you in trouble. There a plenty of automated tools out there that do this thing and the the advice for using them is to set them up to do it slowly and over time. So you might as well have been caught by the system for rapid follow/unfollow. Twitter is always good in responding at least ( compared to facebook that they just dont bother) so I am sure you will get it sorted eventually.

That sucks. Sorry to hear it. I've had issues with FaceBook before. I think I pushed a FB page a little too much. I got the notice that the page was violating T&C with no specific reasons. The link to the terms did specifically mention gambling related use was prohibited. That was most likely the reason.

Did you ever convert with Twitter? So far, I have not been able to leverage social media to my advantage.

Its just frustrating that it's gone from nothing to permanent suspension without so much as a warning and I can't get to talk to anyone other than their dismissive emails.

That's really sad news! I'm very sorry to hear that.

Assume, it was probably an operation of an affiliate, a competitor in your field, to destroy your account. Bad SEO links are also not coming from nowhere and without any reason.

They also terminated Roger Stone's account some days ago, but in this case I can see the reasons. The rules of Twitter are so wishy-washy, that they can quasi terminate everyone for any reason without telling anyone any details, unless you have sent out tweets with affiliate links, because this is a clear violation.

In your case it is really sad, because a major part of your income depends on social media obviously. They destroy companies with this [abuse of] power. This is the reason, why I don't like Twitter, Facebook and such players. Within a blink of an eye everything is gone and people suffer serious harm without their accounts.

I am awaiting also actions for my not very often used Twitter account ( https://twitter.com/RouletteZeitung ) after I started my #BAC2017 and #IGBAffiliate storm.

Yeah it's really demoralising for me to be honest.

Interacting with my followers on twitter was something I actually enjoyed. Have felt a bit lost without it this last week.

One of the things that really gets to me is that I reported an account that was spouting all sorts of racist and violent abuse and he's still there and I'm not.

Normally they put your account into 'Twitter Jail' at first, which lasts for several days to several weeks. Pushing affiliate links though is very likely to be the reason I am afraid, if that is what you are doing.

Especially in light of what UK facing programs are doing now thanks to the UKGC and ASA, do not use affiliate links on any of your social media channels. Sorry if this is after the horse has bolted.

I was tempted to give up on Twitter but I've decided to persevere and started a new account. Will keep it completely white hat, no affiliate links, no follower churn, just engaging with followers and linking to my site.
