Exclamation Football Squares on the Web

I have what I think is a decent site for playing sqaures games, which is usually played on football games (www.footballpot.com).

This is a free site and only refers to pledging and winning undefined "points," so it is not a wagering site - yet. I'd like to change that, if feasible.

What I'd like to do is add cash transactions capability, which will mean gambling, which I assume will mean moving hosting - or at least some of it, to a gaming-friendly jurisdiction.

I feel certain that making such a transition will make this site profitable, but I have no idea how to get started or if US players will even be allowed.

Ideas, comments, suggestions or pointers will be appreciated.

Not only would you have to move hosting, but you would also need a gaming license, which would require very deep pockets.

In addition to that, the costs for customer support needs very deep pockets...

If an affiliate program is not small affiliate friendly (especially small US Affiliate), then they are NOT Affiliate Friendly!

I figure I can hire myself to do customer support, but the gaming license ... jeez louise. How much? Does it vary a lot from one country to another? Would US users be allowed to play?

The cost of a gaming license in the UK depends on the amount of wagers you are going to take.

From what I understand your system is a bit like a lottery so if your revenue from it was less than £550,000 per year then the license fee int he UK would be £977

    See xhttp://www.gamblingcommission.gov.uk/gambling_sectors/lotteries/getting_a_licence-what_you__n/applying_for_a_licence_-_lotte/apply_for_an_operating_licence/how_much_-_application_fees.aspx

If my memory serves me correctly a small casino license would not cost much more than £3,000.

But as you are in Texas, you would not be accepted by the British Gambling Commission. You would need to relocate your business to one of the 'whitelisted' regions of which the USA is not. There is no doubt a whole bunch of other hoops you have to jump through but the actual license fee does not seem like much of a hurdle to me.

    Hope that helps.

Well personally I do not think this would be anywhere near what would be needed.
