Is 50% net revenue unhealthy for a poker room?
Hello. I am starting a poker room targeting African players. I am first to this market as far as I know and I am trying to use that to my advantage to charge higher commissions on games. I settled on a 10% rake for cash games and 20% rake for tournaments/leaderboards. It's early days, but so far that's getting me a 50% net gaming revenue (total rake income divided by total deposits). I can't help but think that there's barely any winning players on the site so far so perhaps my large rakes are ruining the user experience. Is a 50% NGR good for business, or should I lower the rake to make things more enticing for the players?
