I’ve been posting Reels regularly, but most of them barely get any views. Is there anything I can do to give new Reels an initial boost and help them reach more people?

first thing i would check is how the video gets to the phone. if it goes through whatsapp or telegram it is already compressed before instagram even touches it. send it as a file or airdrop it, and turn on "upload at highest quality" in the app settings, most people never touch that.
after that it is mostly the first hour. reels that get watched to the end and rewatched get pushed further, so short ones around 7-12 seconds usually do better while the account is still small. posting when your own followers are actually online helps too, the first push comes from them.
you need to trigger early engagement signals and make sure your account settings are fully optimized for discovery.
I’d suggest sharing one of your videos here so we can review it and identify areas for improvement.
In general, though, using trending music can give you an extra boost, and I’ve also had good results with remixes from time to time. That said, I wouldn’t rely on Reels as your main traffic source, as social media can be quite unpredictable.

Keep in mind, using trending music can also get you a copyright strike, unless you get permission to republish copyrighted music.

One thing worth testing is the first second of the Reel rather than changing everything at once. A clear result, surprise, or question right at the start usually gives people a reason to stop scrolling. I’d also look at average watch time, rewatches, saves, and shares, not just the view count. If those are weak, hashtags will not save the clip; if they are solid, try a tighter edit and post it again at a different time.
Rick is absolutely right on this. I can't edit my previous post, but I did not consider that the rules changes if you are a commercial account, specially if you are doing advertisement. I have used it with good results for some clients but they built their profile as a Community and they were not promoting their product directly.

This is why Epidemic Sound and similar services makes sense?!
I'd run a small comparison before paying for an initial boost. Make three clips on the same subject with different openings: show the result first, pose the viewer's problem, or demonstrate one useful step. Keep the audience and general length similar, then compare watch time and profile visits rather than just the biggest view count. Also separate 'nobody was shown it' from 'people saw it and immediately left'. Those suggest different things to investigate. A screenshot of the Reel's insights and the first few seconds would make the advice much more specific.
A bought burst of views that produces no interested visitors can make the dashboard look healthier without helping the account's actual goal.
