    Default Possible scam: AFFILLIATEGUARDDOG.COM

An email sent out looks like AGD but has an extra L in the domain which was registered less than a month ago.

Perhaps someone might be interested in replying, act interested in paying and get their payment details.

    Managers,

I meant to send out this follow up after the AAC but was just now able to get to it. I wanted to reach out to all managers on our contact list (which has gotten quite large over the years) and see how we might be able to work together. Our forums are growing quickly, and we are gearing up for our new gaming related podcast in September.

We are always looking for brands to promote, so if we aren’t already promoting you, feel free to add me on Skype or drop me a line.

    Best Regards,

    Andrew Pragis

Andy sent all the aff managers an email about this yesterday.
The same guy is adding people on skype as affiliate.guard.dog from memory. There is a thread around here somewhere about it too.

Thanks for the heads up though!

The post of gaffg shows, that a forum could be more than a place of childish revenge or vague talk.

You are very brave and collegial, because this is not without risk. Also the perpetrator is able to read internet posts and could be warned.

Information must be compared with the result of a 2nd investigation person, because it's not the 1st time, that criminals will give different persons different forged (marked) information. If information will be go around, they know exactly, who it was.

I have exposed in my life more than only one cyber criminal and cyberstalker, and the best chances you will have is if you coordinate in the background these things via phone, Skype or email. All program contact details are public, but it must be done very quickly to protect possible victims.

The moment you collected and double checked useful details, is the right one to go online with a -for the criminal- crushing report. It's hard to react for him, and the chances, that these are "marked" information, are less.

Coordination, collegiality and the investment of lifetime -sometimes money- are the basic conditions.

And exactly here is the problem. You will find a lot of people, who are strong with their lips, but not with their hands.

I wrote Andy yesterday in his forum, that he should block all traffic from the identity theft domain and IP address, because it's a redirection to his website. This is the first step to stop the visual presence. As soon as he will have access to FTP again, I hope it will be done.

Yes, this guy is REALLY trying to make contact. Just remember that I typically do not make first contact with a program (can't recall ever doing that) and sponsorships at AGD aren't just 'ask and get'. My guess is that is his motive, to get sponsorships. With AGD - that isn't simply possible... ask any program that has dealt with me and they will tell you I take a colossally long time So - if he asks you to become a sponsor, you will know it is crap!

It's annoying to have someone like this out there, but I'm hoping most of us know better.

    thanks for the support.

I think the biggest problem is that newer affiliate managers don't do their homework.

If I had a dollar for every affiliate manager who had contacted me to place their brands on our rewards affiliates website, I would not even need to work anymore. I would have thought the "Casino Affiliate Program" text would have given it away immediately.

So it's great that these things get posted. I have a feeling there will be someone out there who will fall for it though. Just a matter of how quickly it happens
