home page vs inner page link

[casionmark]

Hi -

QQ - is there any difference in value of a home page link vs an inner page link. My guess is HP is better because there is more traffic to these pages. But what if the inner page content was more relevant to your own site than the more general content of the home page you were back linking from.

Thanks,

I would think a good combination of innner and homepage links looks more natural

Hi, it higly depends what is yopur goal? If traffic - then yes front page is good. But if you are thinking about seo too remember that nowadays google recognises each page as single page. So if yoou want good seo rather than traffic, find best suitable content even if page is not much visited and is lower tier home->sub->page

Homepages are much stronger in meaning of link juice, when the inner pages can transfer more topic relevance.
