Russian search giant Yandex reported a strong Q4 2013 today, with overall revenue up 37 percent from Q4 2012 and continued growth in text-based advertising. Take away revenue from its payment platform, Yandex.Money, and the Y-o-Y revenue growth would be 40 percent. The company says it now has more than 270,000 advertisers

I think no. Yandex - this is search engine for Russian language only. In Russia and
some CIS countries Google all the time was number 2.

It looks like a Russian version of Yahoo.

I've had a good amount of Russian traffic from Yandex to confirm that if you want to convert you'd most likely need a Russian landing page. I mean I'm offering unique, good quality information to what they are looking for, but just a few read, the rest either try to use translation software or just leave as soon as they see English.

So it's not a threat, and its traffic has no value, unless you have targeted pages in Russian.

Russian Traffic - is very good. Russian people like gamble. But this is like asian traffic. Very very specific.

Russia And CIS Countries with Russian Language - this is primary market for Yandex.
I know, they have Turkish and English version, but Target #1 for Yandex is Russian speaking world.

+ Yandex this is not only search engine. For example this is payment system (Yandex Money) that
targeting on Russian market e.t.c.
