My car is always giving me trouble at the worst possible times, so Saturday night I was on my way to a wedding, dressed all elegant, I had 5 people in my car too. When we were about 10 minutes always my car decided to break down. I had to get out on the street and check underneath to see if I could see anything. The we had to push the car over to a parking lot so it was safe for the night, call a cab and go to the wedding.

Boyfriend and I bought a bike last Tuesday. Was really excited about this.

Son (20 mths old) tried to climb on it on Thursday and it fell - handlebar got all twisted, headlight screwed... oh well, luckily baby didn't get hurt.

Terrible but at least no one hurt! Got to look at the bright side! Gotta repair it though, money money money

Bright side was that we have a friend who's a mechanic so it didn't cost us much to get the repairs done.

Boyfriend got an earful though, coz I told him repeatedly to make sure the bike was parked securedly our my little one (your namesake) is quite a handful and has a fascination with anything on 2 or 4 wheels...

Yeah everyone except for my Jaxy (that is my car's name).. I still haven't gotten him fixed and it was a year ago.. if I wasn't as quick to see what was going to happen, we would have died. The car behind me wrote itself off on the car in front of me. I was quick enough to see it and swerve up onto the median strip. So only the front passenger quarter panel and passenger mirror were damaged.

Because we were moving stuff on the way up to work etc too we had a huge LCD tv and other stuff in the car.. on the backseat.. so that probably would have gotten broken too..

    We were very lucky.

I think I have a **** luck story for you guys.My husband and i have been together 26 years so for our 'unofficial ' 25th anniversary we bought a 2010 Mustang GT and we paid extra $xxxxx for custom paint job and custom interior .It came from the dealership ,we had it home a week then sent it off for 2 weeks getting it's custom paint job.We enjoyed it for three months and then put it in storage for winter .We took it out of Storage April 21 2010 and five days later with only 3300 km on it my husband and daughter were driving to the bank to get her some Euros for her school trip when they were t-boned by a guy going through a red light.
My husband's hands and thumbs were badly hurt from airbags and car was filling up with smoke so he had to force his way out of car and get our daughter out who was bleeding from her neck and suffered badly for months from back and neck issues.
The car was destroyed and for us it was not just a car it represented much more than that to us.Anyway the other driver was changed with many things and people told us we should sue but we just felt incredibly lucky that everyone got out with relatively minor injuries. We ordered a 2011 mustang GT 500 as replacement car and went through everything all over again , got same color ,same custom paint job and interior etc .The only thing we managed to salvage from the 2010 was the head rest which were hand stitched ,insurance made us pay for them but we wanted something from that car.
I am sure we can live with buying a nice Sports car every year but hope we never have to do it under these circumstances again!

If you can afford to buy a car like that every year doesn't sound like you belong in the **** luck club Judy!
If that's the **** luck club, I wouldn't mind being a member of that club!

As a side note, I'm glad to hear your family is ok. One thing that pisses me off more than anything are being who can't/don't know how to drive.. The reason stop signs are red is because red is the easiest colour to see (coincidently also the reason red is one of the colours on emergency vehicles, blue also because it can be seen from furthest away).. so if you don't see a red light saying stop you're either blind (which means you shouldn't be on the road) or not paying attention (again shouldn't be on the road)..

Actually this makes me want to start a thread about things you hate on the road. Grrr.

Get out of the overtaking lane if you're not overtaking!
