Default End of Football - Start summer!

    Hi all,

This topic is mostly relevant for Sportsbook (football in specific) affiliates. But please casino / poker / games affiliates do share your thoughts and plans!

With the Premier League coming to an end all what is left is the Champions League.

Unfortunately there won't be any major football tournaments this summer.

What will be your plans to breach the 'dead summer months? (June July)

Affiliate afraid of a big drop in traffic and revenue?

Will you take a break and enjoy the summer?

Will you continue working on your projects? (if so, in what matter)

    ----

To me we expect a big drop in traffic and revenue. So decided to take some weeks of, enjoy the weather and see what happens when the next season will start again!

Thankfully we also do a lot of work on Rugby League and Horse Racing so we don't get the massive drop offs but June gives us a chance to see what improvements we can make, July we can implement change and then it's straight back into the action in August.

Of course there are still summer leagues (Scandinavia etc), pre-season and ICC and then bet on new managers, signings and final positions in the run up to promote.

It'll be a quiet one with no tournament. Some nice racing to keep us occupied, but I imagine turnover and sign ups will take a hit for the next couple of months. Nature of the beast.

Good time to do some housekeeping and tidy up the network!

Good time for updates and kick starting stalled projects, interjected with a couple of stag dos and summer weddings.

There is a fair bit of sport on over the summer to hopefully pick up the slack. Rugby, racing and tennis, few international games next month and then pre season tournaments start as well so hopefully it won't be too bad. Europa league final this week, champs league final in a few weeks too. But nothing compares to when the prem is back on.

    Very true!

It is nice to work in an industry where the down time coincides with the sun being out at least. This is why I am against a Premier League winter break!

Expecting a major decrease in sign ups and revenue but it gives me time to work on things ready for next season that I haven't had time for previously.

Still going to have to try and push some sign ups though as I'm wary of being hit by minimum quotas, despite doing my best to avoid them.

U-20 World Cup, U-21 Euros and Confederations Cup are some ideas. In the summer I bet on Japan (1 and 2), China (1 and 2), Korea, Sweden (1 and 2), Norway (1 and 2), Finland (1 and 2), USA, Argentina (1 and 2), Brazil (1 and 2), Ireland, Iceland.

Strangely, this past week after the season finished has been BY FAR the most lucrative week I've ever had in terms of revenue. Not what I expected but if it carries on like this over the summer I'll be a very happy man!

Is that in terms of signups or turnover?

Yeah I expected the majority of my customers to be betting on nothing but football due to the nature of my site but I've had one or two shift to casinos and others just spending a lot more on sports. Don't know if they've moved to obscure leagues where they're losing money or other sports entirely but long may it continue!

Yeh the last week of May was good after a poor showing earlier in the month.

I predict it will be pretty dead though overall, but the football continues until June 11th with the WC Qualifiers so that's a bit later than usual. Epsom and later Royal Ascot will provide some bits and bobs, US Open golf, Wimbledon tennis. They all keep it ticking over but yeh it's clearly gona be quiet.

As with others, it's a good time to do jobs that get left when you're busy and maybe kick start a couple of non-sports betting sites.

Even though from June and August are slower months it is worth noting there are many other sporting events as well as friendly games you can entice your members to try, as well as use this to push a few casino games to them. Having a revamp of your site ready prior August is also good as a fresh site always looks nice

As somebody who specialises in writing football content it will be very quiet for me this summer. It is time to focus on the development of the content I deliver for other sports and also casino.
