Default Facebook comments don't show on Page

I was surprised to see comments on some of my articles on the Joomla site as I haven't seen them on the Facebook Page and wasn't notified of them as an administrator.

Some quick Google searches revealed that this is a common problem and that it isn't easy to solve.

So, how do I go about tackling this issue? What I want is simple - I want people to be able to comment on my articles (using whatever), I want to be notified of these comments so I can reply to them, and if the comments were made using Facebook I want the comment to appear on my brand page and on the commenter's timeline.

    Is that possible?

So far I have used a simple Facebook app and a Joomla plugin that basically just shows the Facebook social plugin on articles.

By the way, is there a resource (like a book) that answers this question and other questions related to proper Facebook usage for brands? I mean like some really good book, not the "get a million followers" type. I find Facebook very unintuitive to use.

    Anyone?

The problem is simple - people use Facebook comments on my website to comment on articles, but I'm not notified of a new comment and the comments don't appear anywhere else.

If I knew how to help I'd post. I still haven't figured this one out either.

Hi I think I can help you, I had to set up an to do the same thing, post to commenters time line. This is a feature called wall post and you need to first make you app, which i guess you already did. But the basic app you first set up does not allow the app to post to users wall until you have requested that feature and submit your app for review.

It will take them a few days to review the app and then tell you if its approved. Mine was not approved right away but then sent me the reason why and i fixed it. Then I had to resubmit the app and then it got approved.

Then they will send you some code you need to app into your apps code on your site.

I do have an app but can't find this feature. Where do I click?

The closest thing to this is publish_actions feature.

Isn't this taken care of with the "Post to Facebook" option when making the comment?

The issue here is that the comment, made by the user, isn't posted to MY PAGE timeline, which is connected to the app. I don't care much whether the comment is posted to the user's timeline or not. I guess it will be if he ticks that "post to facebook" box.

Look in the Open Graph link in your app

That's too deep for me, I don't want to learn Facebook API.

Let's try to solve the problem that I, as an adminstrator of the Page, am not being notified when people post a new comment on my site. Both the Page and the Comments Plugin are linked to the same app.
