No betting on U.S. election allowed ... at least not in the U.S.
The Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has rejected a proposal by the North American Derivatives Exchange to offer option contracts on the eventual winner of the U.S. presidential election.
"As a result of reviewing the complete record, the CFTC determined that the contracts involve gaming and are contrary to the public interest," a press release from the CFTC stated.
People outside of the U.S. can make bets on the outcome of the election at a myriad of online sportsbooks, however.
