I used to feel the same way but have you tried the support recently? They don't answer their email and their live chat is a chat bot, no humans.

We are currently considering changing over to Moosend from Aweber. For our type of usage their pricing would work out significantly cheaper than Aweber (they have good options for high subscriber counts or high send volumes). I contacted their support and they don't have any issues with gambling customers.

Please stop just copy and past (its just obvious as the font is not the "system" one) such generic AI answer. And you're wrong.
For example Mailchimp will close your account if you start sending gambling related stuff.

SO will constant contact, and ActiveCampaign is terribly expensive and gave me a bad IP that dropped my domain rep way down... I mean TERRIBLE... I mow have 35% opens and 12% clicks on aWebber and love it. Maybee I can help with your support Q for aWebber?

I have 100K plus list of users but I never did email much at all, when i moved off vbulletin and got serious about email i tried using my member list that included promotions and was not good. How is your open / click stats on 600K? I literally started from scratch again with the new version of AFC

For me, self-hosted email is the superior solution. While AWeber was effective, my account was unfortunately closed in 2020 due to sending activity. After extensive research, I switched to self-hosting and haven't looked back. Previously, I paid $400 monthly for 26,000 leads on AWeber. Now, with self-hosting, I manage over 100,000 leads for just $20 per month in hosting costs, with unlimited sending.

never did emailing. so using this thread for general direction:
1. some plugin like optinmonster for email collection.
2.aweber for sending

Yes We started Aweber 12 years ago and no issues. When we get complaints we email the person and show them the email sign up info with their IP and how to unsubscribe. Most forget they signed up and report as spam but we have sign up info back to 2007 .

For gambling mail, the deciding factor is usually policy rather than features, so I would settle that before comparing anything else. Get written confirmation that gambling affiliate mail is allowed, including the markets you send to, because a provider that accepts you at signup can still close the account later if its policy team treats the content differently. A trial that only tests templates will not reveal that risk.

The practical steps that matter most are separate sending domain, gradual warm-up, and a clean list. Send from a domain used only for mail, warm it up on your most engaged subscribers first, and remove or re-confirm addresses that have not opened in a long time before a migration, since old addresses are a common cause of bounces and complaints on a new system. Segment by market and language rather than sending one large blast, keep promotional and transactional mail separate, and keep a clear unsubscribe path and mailing address in every message. Most importantly, run the new setup on a small engaged segment and check delivery, bounces and complaints before moving the whole list, and keep the old account running until the new one has proved itself over several sends.

one thing worth adding for anyone switching: export your list together with the suppression data (unsubscribes, hard bounces, complaints), and do it regularly, not only when you leave. if an esp closes the account over gambling content you can lose access overnight, and moving a list without its suppressions means mailing people who already opted out, which is the fastest way to burn a new sender.

with the self-hosted setups mentioned above it also helps to keep the list app and the smtp relay separate, so if the relay drops you, you only swap credentials instead of migrating everything.
