IOS all the way for me. Had an iPhone from the model 3 and never looked back, although I sometimes skip a model or two if I’m happy with my current phone - currently on iPhone 12.

I'm using the iphone XS Max with the latest ios and I'm reasonably satisfied with it and its overall performance, although it can be a bit buggy. I've never used Android before and I doubt that I ever will.

Been using an Android since 2015 and only recently got myself the new iPhone. In terms of performance iOS smokes Android by a mile. One of the biggest reasons is and I quote "because the render loop of the OS is decoupled from the apps" and even thought that's a thing on the Android as well, it's not optimized for a specific device.

When you make your own hardware, you optimize it for your own OS. I'm indifferent to iOS or Android, but I'm just stating the smoothness I felt on iOS compared to Android and the responsiveness of the apps as well.

It's not a preference thing, it's a feeling as a user. If Android release something better, I will have zero issues switching over. I'm not a fan of brands but quality. And without derailing this thread, for the longest I've been an intel user, ever since core2duo came up, but recently went amd with ryzen cause well, they went ahead by a mile.

Android on fold 4.. makes emergency updates on the sityes a breeze.. analyzing data and tables etc.. a work horse for me

For me it's Android all the way.

Interesting on the rendering though, if it really is that big of a difference I am sure android will look closer at that to see if there are speed improvements doing some thing different with rendering.

I actually carry 2 androids, one more for business and one more private and each time I replace one of them they get faster/better in terms of quality, graphics, speed etc. Since they are different providers I can see clear differences in connections etc depending on geographic areas as well.

The target market for iOS seems to be people prepared to pay $1000 to $1500 more to have an Apple product.

I got the flagship Samsung Galaxy S10e for around $300 preowned. I was concerned about the battery life but it's been brilliant. It has one of the smallest screens on the market, it doesn't feel like you are carrying around a brick in your pocket.

You forgot people prepared to pay but also get the newest one, every year, consistently without a miss, no matter how insignificant the changes are. At least the people around me are like that.

I do see the benefit of a big battery especially on airports now. However I rarely change phones, and usually do it when they are pretty irrelevant, in BAC 2011, I was probably the only guy with a nokia3310 and couldn't find a charger in a conference hall filled with thousands of people .

I believe the whole competition Android vs iOS is healthy for both as they strive for a better product. We all know what happens when a big company has no competition and how it degrades their product *wink* *wink*

Got about another 6 months on contract for my Galaxy S20 FE 5G. Granted, IOS has some neat tricks (unavailable on Android), such as, knowing when a message is read. However, with no other Apple products, switching to IOS, for me, now, is pretty useless.

iOS for me.

I've been using iPhone's for a while now, after switching from Android phones to iPhones.

It is a big difference in simplicity, design and how fast the operating system is.

For me it's Android, but I have used iPhones. Once my old phone stopped working I was using my wife's old iphone for a while and it was actually pretty nice. But at the same time I can't say that one phone is significantly better than the other, because they all pretty much do the same things.

The only thing that I noticed is really (for me) significantly better on iphones is geo positioning. Android phones some time are a bit clunky, doesn't always understand which way your are looking and even moving, while my experience with iphones in this regard has always been spot on.

I've had both Android and iOS phones devices. In the end I don't think there is such a big difference. Both operating systems are mature and have all the functions you need.

The problem with iOS is that you are obligated to stay with Apple devices. The whole ecosystem of Apple is good, but you are limited to their (expensive) hardware.

I prefer Android because it gives more freedom to choose your hardware.

Once you are using one system it is also easier if you stay with the same one because you will have your paid apps in that system.
