Default CMA confirms shop closure requirement for Ladbrokes-Coral deal

350-400 to be closed, that's a lot of shops:

Is there really going to be the demand out there from their competitors to take on these sites given the pressure on margins and reliance on FOBTs which could potentially be limited further? Not convinced personally.

The article does not go into detail about whether they can just close the shops (or what the total number of shops they would need to close) if they do not find a suitable buyer.

The other article (linked from that one) stated they had identified 659 local markets where the merger would cause unfair competition, but it did not state if closing shops without a sale would suffice.

This will be interesting to see how it plays out, and like one of the article stated, I wonder if this will have any affect overall to odds and betting limits, since it will reduce the number of betting choices some players will have in some markets.
