UK Regs and future of the UK affiliate industry
Hi,
I have been working on a few gambling affiliate projects that could potentially pull in players from the UK, however, I am seriously considering a restructure of my SEO work to avoid anything that targets UK players.
With SkyBet pulling out and now this news from PP/Betfair that they are now getting their affiliates a 1 strike ruling on all marketing activity unless they adhere to strict rules...ie giving them the freedom to scrap commissions and blame a minor thing and close your account.
I wonder how long it will be before other operators follow suite? Especially with the press, ie the Guardian sending out reports like
which really paint a poor picture on all affiliates because of the bad methods of a select few.
It will be interesting to hear what you guys in the UK think of these recent developments.

I think you can see the market narrowing and restrictions increase on many markets. Regulated markets like Italy for example show a huge decrease in income. UK like many other regulated markets has its faults. I think the question is which market will replace the UK. Do you have an alternative?
