GPWA - Long overdue for SSL

Having SSL means login information is encrypted, instead of being sent in plain-text. I think it's about time the GPWA pulled out their finger, stop making excuses and make the change to SSL (aka https). Aside from members being happier, Google will love you more too

Certainly it is in our plans to migrate the GPWA website to SSL, and has been for a while. The process is more complicated than I wish it were, which is part of why it has not happened yet (as an example, one prerequisite is to migrate our ad server infrastructure to use SSL). We do have e-commerce sites that we have migrated to SSL, because those were obviously a higher priority, but there is not that sort of especially sensitive information as a focus on the GPWA website. We have more recently completed the work to enable our sites to use the Lets Encrypt SSL certificates and renew them automatically, as part of an overall plan to use SSL certificates on the hundreds of websites we manage.
