Tag clouds, useful or spammy?

Hey guys, how are you doing today?

I have questions about the tag clouds on the websites. Do you think it's still useful for SEO to have it, or it's just a keyword spam?

It may not be spammy but maybe it's just useless, I don't know what to think about it. So thank you for all your opinions.

I added it to one of my sites, but it looked way too spammy so I removed it.

Spammy, for SEO it's good to have a sitemap, that's it

Tag clouds are spammy looking, two or 3 at the bottom of a post are fine

Yes I wouldn't use a tag cloud if I were you. Years ago they may have been OK but anymore get rid of them. Use tags on posts like the above says, and having them on the post is good, but an actual cloud - no. It surprises how many websites still have tag clouds on them, but I have a feeling those websites that do are more of a hobby website or if you are selling things its an easy way for visitors to see whats offered. For our purposes though get rid of it.

I don't use it. Rather have a good sitemap and get you content relations in place.

The SEO guru Yoast always says, "Go easy on the tags" (on posts/articles). Having a site-wide tag cloud is a bad idea.

Like everything it depends on intent. I have it on a site because it adds to the user experience. That said, I noindex the tag pages.

If you use it wisely it will be a benefit for your internal lnikbuilding.
You should planing your tags and use they in moderation. 3-4 max per page and with same spelling during your complete system.
If you add good content to every tag page you can set up "index" and you can create some good hub pages.

I wouldn´t use a automatic generated tag cloud, but i setup links out of content to a matching tag page.

That would be incredibly spammy. You can focus on longtails in the article.
