Question What factors contribute to your content marketing success?

An important aspect of being a successful affiliate is being a successful content marketeer.

Search Engine Land published an article on Valentine's Day this past week about being a successful content marketer.

Content marketing in 2025: 6 strategies you can’t ignore.

The six strategies they list include:

    1. Spark inspiration with ‘visionary’ content
    2. Leverage short-form video for maximum reach
    3. Optimize content for large language models (LLMs)
    4. Build high-performance content teams
    5. Apply psychological concepts to content
    6. Differentiate your brand by balancing AI and human content

For today's poll, I look at their item number 4: build high-performance content teams.

In that section of the article they share a poll showing factors that top enterprise performers say contribute to their content marketing success. Here is what the poll conducted as part of the 15th Annual Content Marketing Survey had to say:

    81% Understand our audience
    78% Have high-performing team members
    74% Possess industry expertise
    73% Produce high-quality content
70% Set goals that align with our organization's objectives
58% Effectively measure and demonstrate content performance
    51% Have a documented strategy.

That is today's poll question. Please vote for up to five items that you view as being most important. Besides voting in the poll, please share you thoughts on content marketing and your approach to being successful and how that has evolved in a post. And we'll see how the answers of GPWA members compare with the poll results published in the Search Engine Land article.

I voted for the first four items, and also for other, as being my top five items in the list.

For other, I viewed the fact that we have a large quantity of content, created and published over a long period of time, all properly organized and cross-linked, as an important part of establishing that we are an authoritative site whose content deserves to rank highly in search results, as being perhaps the most important factor in our content marketing success.

We create contents on youtube, and I think one of the biggest contribution to our success is to understand the audience and to really create a high quality content. By that I mean, you need a proper editor, a proper camera if you're using a streamer, etc. At the end of the day, what really drives traffic through content has to do with how interesting the content itself is.
