I love all this business clap-trap the bigger affiliate groups come out with. Total bollocks. But I suppose saying "We want to dominate this space and become a huge money-making machine" just isn't putting things in the language most people want to hear.

Interesting they did it on 4 times current revenue. Obviously it's a well trafficked site as well. Gives some indication what other sites in the sector could be worth, useful to know.

- EBIT margin 90%, which is similar to our margins - so they were running lean and mean.
- 25000 FTD to earn 3 million rev as that's only 125E per FTD - quite low I think.

That is astonishing. I have never even heard of this site before. It has a lovely design, but not much useful info and much of it written in broken English. They have done amazingly well to extract that much money. Congratulations to the owner!

I have been told that the owner asked for $15m and Catena wrongly assumed and agreed to pay in Euros. True story.

I think unlike AskGamblers, this acquisition doesn't make any sense and will only cost GIG money. The site is now all over the serps but there is a reason why Muppet haven't seen it before - it wasn't anywhere close to these rankings few months ago.
The chances of it holding current positions for the next 3/4 years are rather slim.

Edit: just meant from GIG perspective. From developer point of view - amazing job and great "exit".

It runs from Bulgaria if I am right. Loan cost is quite low there. I guess if they run it from another place, for example, Malta, loan cost will be a bit higher.


This website has a great, obvious AG-inspired, design. This deal shows that with a team and a plan it is possible to make a nice amount of money.

About the 25.000 I read:

As GIG noted in a press release from earlier today, Casino Tops Online generates around €3 million in full-year revenue. The company said it expects to increase revenue from its newest acquisition by 25% in the short term. Further cost and revenue synergies are to be generated once the affiliate website and its related assets are fully integrated into Innovation Labs’ operations. In addition to this, the acquisition is expected to boost Casino Tops Online’s number of annual referred first-time depositors by around 25,000.

As far as I understand it right, it does a bit less, but GIG is expecting to increase the number of ftd's up to 25.000 a year.

4x is quite a bit better than the numbers I've seen bandied about on here when random folks try and value their portfolio of accounts, still feels a bit light to me though if you're running site that's got a decent, active base of FTDs and a business model that's likely to continue to recruit more at a similar/better pace.

I guess it depends on the ongoing viability of the site and its ability to continue to attract new visitors and convert them, plus what % of the existing book they're buying are still playing and to what extent. Regardless of all of that I can only applaud the guys at casinotopsonline for cashing in for a pretty juicy number

I think it is a fair price, if "all related assets" are the affiliate accounts. The site deal itself is indeed very risky bc it has SERP traffic as someone pointed out.

Interesting is that even with totally **** domain one can play a big game.

They buy it with assets, so they also generate revenues on an existing player database. I suppose they've checked the backlink profile of websites they buy. Especially if the site went up very quick in the SERPs.

What is also important, is that they have a platform for online casinos. I guess that's what they mean with "eco-system". It's like buying fruitful grounds instead of buying your fruits at the supermarket or the shop around the corner. In that case an asset can be worth more than when others calculate the price. The white label platform offers others the opportunity to plant their tree there too instead of looking themself for a fruitful ground.

For example: in the statement is pointed out that this website is making 3 million a year. On the top spots I see quite some brands belonging to or somehow connected to the buyers group. The revenue the website is generating with this brands - also on existing players - they'll paying it now to themselves.

4 times sounds like quite something, but buyers' perspective is a bit different than when some affiliate buys another affiliate website.

For the seller it's a great price of course. Very well done. Impressive growth also. In a few years generating this amount of revenue without a top domain.
