    Default 200,000 NDC's in 2016

Catena just published their annual report for 2016 where one can read that they sent over 200,000 NDC's throughout the year.

Read the annual report here: https://www.catenamedia.com/app/uplo...ENG_2016-1.pdf

Thought to share it as it will give you a lot of insights on how it can look like if you are able to scale your affiliate business to these levels.

How many NDC's did you get 2016?

I am a bit behind those levels myself.

Easily - as long as we can compare it on a per employee or capital ratio basis.

Revenue 40 million Euros - created by 190 employees ... so thats about 210K per employee.
Operating profit is half that and net proft is down to 17m (before tax).

So under 100K per employee ... most fulltime affiliates will beat that - surely?

These numbers are very impressive, though I don't think that I would trade spots with them.

190 employees? Shareholders? Annual meetings? That's not why I got into this business 13 years ago. Way too much stress for me.

I'm content doing my thing with very minimal expenses and very few headaches.

Yeh I think that's it. It depends what you got into this for. I would suggest a lot of us got into it for freedom reasons, a lifestyle business if you will, not to create a monster affiliate company. That would be too much stress for me also, it would tie me to a 9-5 'day at the office' situation which is the exact thing I got into this to avoid.

Each to their own, what works for me might not be right for someone else and vice versa. I applaud anyone who can create and manage a bigger business like that, it must be quite stressful.

+ a significant part of the money they have spend is coming from investors I think?

But, great job of course. Many people try to create such a big company and just a few succeed.

First , it's an interesting read and definitely impressive work.

However, i think it's too early to say if it's indeed a success. They have a significant debt. As long as everything work well - it's not a problem, but if something happens (not even related to the company but major crisis and so on), then those companies are usually the first to suffer.

I do think that their acquisitions are smart and for a good price. Can't say the same about some other acquisitions of the past year.

40 millon. that sure is high rollin, but they are buying affiliate networks. Giving small webmasters 100$ CPA and taking away all the rev-share. Well, impressive anyway.

    https://www.catenamedia.com/release/...eport-q1-2017/

"New depositing customers (NDCs) totalled 80,421 (32,321), an increase of 149 percent compared with the same quarter for the previous year and an increase of 20 percent when compared to the previous quarter."

    Not a bad quarter

"During the quarter, we took a strategic decision to shift Paid media revenue toward a revenue share model which will increase the life-time revenues from customers, as opposed to upfront payments typical of the Paid media approach. Moreover, revenue share models are more profitable over time and contribute to building strategic value. Therefore, we have taken a decision to accelerate the shift in Paid media towards revenue share at a faster pace than originally planned. This had a negative impact on the operating margin in the first quarter and is also expected to impact the second quarter."

It will be interesting to see if they will still do CPA with some casinos, or if they will only work with rev share. For 80% of the Casinos in Sweden, it would be a very bad idea to to shift from CPA til rev share, as most of the Casinos will leave the market soon (when the market will get regulated).

I've read a great number of press releases about acquisitions of affiliate relates sites. I was surprised of the valuations of the properties they acquired. That makes sense they have investors. Still, that's impressive.

different reasons for joining this industry. some do it in order to experience ruling a kingdom. those create offices. others do it in order to experience absolute bliss. those create websites. still, both sides usually remember that the most cutting edge innovations are the work of single handed individuals. not the work of any of their 10, 100 or 200 employees.
