32Red Poker shuts down

In an email to players and in an announcement on its website, 32Red poker said it will cease operations on 19 May, when the Microgaming Poker Network closes, and, in turn, is sending players to Unibet Poker.

Here is the announcement:

We regret to announce that 32Red Poker will be closing down on 19th May, when the Microgaming Poker Network closes.

Please note that you will still be able to continue logging into your account, accessing banking and playing our casino games at 32Red.com after the 19th May. Decommissioned Jackpots

The Bad Beat Jackpot has been decommissioned, and all five Fish Party Jackpots will be decommissioned on 18th May (full details). Any unused contributions will be returned to players, and any excess funds will form the prize pools of Freerolls for all six Jackpots (held on 18th May).

PokerNews points out that it is "strange and is disappointing 32Red hasn’t found a new home for its poker operations."

Another low blow for affiliates. That’s really sad news indeed and these guys have been around for a long time (they started up their business way back in 2005) and now suddenly, just like the other fantastic casino brands before them, will suddenly cease to exist.

I Can't see it being a big loss to any affiliate. Another bunch of thieving traffic parasites, up there with the likes of Ladbrokes, Royal Panda and Video Slots. They do nothing but take traffic.

Yes, way back in the day. I propped high stakes there back in the mid 2000s and it was a literal gold mine. Made a solid 6 figures in my time there, playing fixed limit no less!

They took a big hit when some group (I forget the name) that owned the license for 27 "skins" went belly up and screwed players, affiliates, and the network out of major cheddar. After that they were a medium sized network for a decade+, but had been slowly losing market share.

Shame, they used to have a really good blog that detailed some fantastic inside information about the workings inside their poker room, but erased its content a few years ago sadly.

MPN Network has officially closed on 19th May, but not all its rooms were forced to be closed. Some is closed like 32RedPoker, but others have moved to different networks. It is interesting that the given poker room has existed in online poker for more than 15 years.
