Default 888 Uffiliates Program Important Update

Apologies if this has been posted before but I just received this from 888 Uffiliates:

We are writing to you as a valued member of 888's Uffiliate Scheme.

As you may be aware the regulatory landscape for affiliates is constantly changing and evolving, especially in the UK. In order to help ensure that we work with our affiliate partners in a compliant manner, we are seeking to exert greater control on the traffic which is generated from the UK.

As a result, from 29th January 2018, you must not target UK IP addresses and/or any persons located in the UK. Therefore, we shall no longer pay you any Commission with regard to Money Players in the UK which you generate under the account luckyga2. The aforementioned shall not apply with respect to non-UK Money Players or to Money Players which you have generated in the UK prior to such date, subject to the Uffiliate terms and conditions found at "Terms").

We wish to take this opportunity to emphasize, that we have taken this decision to ensure that we continue to work in a regulatory compliant and responsible manner in the UK.

Unless I'm reading things incorrectly with my dodgy eyes...bye bye then!

Thought as much, be interesting to see what happens if/when their revenue drops.

Got it too, but don't get it...although maybe because I'm not clued up on the regulations.

So why would they totally cut out UK traffic? Or is it only UK traffic that might have been sent by an affiliate (and they 888 could get punished in some way if that traffic was approached/delivered in the wrong way?

Good way of them to get out of paying you for UK traffic.

No idea, but I'll just remove their links for my sites, plenty of other sites out there so not a major loss, more an annoyance. Won't be in a hurry to put them back up should they change their minds in the future.

My email also contained the line

"If you do wish to continue working with us in the UK please contact us, through this link: http://affiliates.888.com/contact-us.htm"

I think if you are prepared to work closely with them, accept the UK marketing guidelines and make any changes they request you to, that you can still carry on working with them.

That is how I read it anyway. I'm waiting to hear from my AM.

Yeah that's how I read it too and I guess most of us have covered this off via the bet365 updates if not beforehand.

Have some hacked webpages of schools and small companies to push them?
