Default Advice on having 2nd site

I have one casino portal site up and running which is a template site I started with - it's not doing anything yet as it's only been up about 2 weeks although it has managed to get listed in Google. Anyway, in my quest for seo I came to the conclusion through advice of others that I needed to completely rewrite it in plainish HTML, as the template had a lot of php and was not ideal for seo. I have now done this and am very pleased with the results and glad I did it as the design is what I wanted - I was wondering whether I should take advantage of having 2 sites and rename it so I have 2 seperate sites on line? Do you think it will be worth the extra costs for hosting and domain registration? They do look so different I don't think it will be construed as mirroring. Any advice would be very much appreciated as I notice that most people on this forum have more than 1 site going. One other quick question is that I've been told to use as little Java as possible - do you guys agree that Java is bad news where seo is concerned?

    Many thanks
    Penny

hi. It's been 3 months since i 've had my first casino site. Rite now its making nothing as well. I expect it to take another 2-3 months before i start getting something out of it. I am also trying to get high rankings for my site. So, first of all, you'll have to put quite a bit of effort in getting some revenue out of it..well it depends on the keywords you are targetting...if you targetting a keyword thats not too hard to get top rankings for, then you can go at it rite away and can start making money.
    Anyways,
my advice would be to stick on to your 1 site and try to get high rankings for it..simply coz if you have 2 sites, then you give 50% effort to both sites. If you have 1 site, you give 100% effort. With 50% effort, it will take more time for the site to rank high..thus it will take more time for you to make money. Once you start getting some money off the first site, then you will be confident enough to launch 1 or more sites.

Yes, try to have as little Java as you can. Although i am not against it coz GoogleBot reads the hyperlinks if there are any in the JS.

BTW do you mind listing both the domains/sites you are thinking of promoting?

Everyone is different Penny. I have multiple sites, that are starting to pick up momentum a bit, but it's true, when you have more than one, you start spreading yourself a little thin.

I've started using doorway sites and information support sites to promote main sites for some of my non-casino projects.

I think you shouls avoid javascript unless it is essential. Quite a few people surf with j/s off (including me), and I am amazed by the number of sites that just present a blank page to me. If I really want to enter the site, I cut the link out of the source code, but most of the time I don't bother and just go to another site. Don't forget also that if you are dropping cookies with j/s, a non j/s enable site will be a no cookie site as well. It's worth watching this for affiliate tracking.
