I am going through ASA and UKGC codes and articles to ensure I am compliant as a sports betting affiliate.

When I post a tip I am looking for a method to immediately inform subscribers that a betting tip has been posted but from speaking to ASA I must ensure that I do not send gambling related advertisements to anyone under 18.

Do you have a method to keep your viewers aware of new developments on your website and do you take any measures to ensure that nobody under 18 receives any gambling related marketing material?

Have the bookmakers you work with placed restrictions upon your communication methods?

Unless one performs their own KYC on subscribers (before allowing access), there is no way of knowing if a subscriber is 18 or older. User submitted age forms are BS. Anyone can add any birth date they like.

Anyone offering demo games to the UK market have to have a proper age verification system in place. The integration side of it can be a bit tricky, I had my developer help me with that, but it works great. Not sure how you would integrate it into a email subscriber form, I should imagine the more obstacles you put in the way, then the less likely people are to subscribe.

My website is only a review type site, I dont do any marketing other than SEO and dont have any social media accounts associated with it.

Does anyone use age filtering for their whole website? Like an age-gate or is this overkill?

As none of the "gambling" happens on your affiliate site. As long as you adhere to the different program's T&Cs you should be fine. Of course here I'm talking strictly from an SEO perspective. If you're doing other things (like email) you might want to check in with your AM.

Interesting to see what Tom Galanis is doing with First Look Games. My only question there it has to do with what is their capacity to "tag" your audience and in essence later on retarget?
