Adwords Keyword Tool Changing

Over the past week or so whenever I go to the adwords keyword tool it takes me to a new 'keyword planner'. At first I thought no biggy as you can just hit 'go back' to use the old tool we all know and love.

But today I received a notice telling me that the tool is being turned off in the next couple of months, meaning your only option will be to use the planner.

Problem is... it's crap. Incredibly long winded to find the same information and one of my favourite tools for hunting out long tail terms seems to have gone ('only show ideas closely related to my search terms').

it happen to me the other week and I ended up giving up, it is a terrible tool

strangely went back to the old tool again for weeks and as you say yesterday was hard to use

Google Adword tool is more effective than earlier. Now you can search keyword with more rectified search fields.
I think its now more inclined towards campaign rather than a Simple Keyword tool.

It's really not. It's a lot of extra faffing and options I don't want for information that's less easily digestible.

Yup with you on that. The extra faffing is a bloody pain.

Google removed the tool, to create a PPC tool that supports its AdWords.

Also I think the new tool cuts out the whole looking for long tail terms which are "connected" to terms with high search volume.

I'm looking for alternatives.. but I don't want to pay for it!

Actually you can still do it using 'search for keyword and ad group ideas' and then clicking the 'keyword ideas' tab, but what you can't do any more is limit the results to those containing the same words, so now the results get a bit cluttered.

I actually do run PPC campaigns, so I might see if there's anyone I can winge to about it.

Sorry - that's what I meant by connected - long tail terms containing your high search volume term.

To do it now, I have to download the keywords, and do a vlookup in excel.

But... now.. I can't download any results. FFS google.

Yeah I know what you mean - that's what I'm most annoyed about too. The method I mentioned above does sort of produce those kind of results, it just also adds in one's that don't contain the original search terms.

Oh! It's bad new that Google makes adword tool paid.

I got notice from google that after some time you can use keywords tools from your adwords account only, Does not matter you are using adwords for any website or not. We have to create only an account and then we can use google keywords tools easily. I did not check after that notice but i think till now its like past and will be change after some time at least.

I started using the new tool adn its not "that bad". At first I was really dissapointed but playing with last night one thing I like si you can get the reults and download them to excel. You may have been able to do this with the old one but I never used it.

Plus I finnally found the tab to get search volume which I couldnt find before. I can live with the new tool - I personally dont think it is to bad but again I didnt use the old tool that much.
