    Default Affiliate Conferences

In My opinion I think that conferences like AAC and LAC etc should add a 3rd Category to the people attending .

The Yellow band for affiliates gets abused by people who are not actually affiliates and can confuse affiliate managers trying to get the best results for their programs by using these as a guide to who the affiliates are ?

In My Mind Red for Programs, Yellow for True affiliates and the 3rd a Blue , Green or any other color for people outside mainstream affiliates this way everyone gets the attention they deserve .

I would love to hear from other affiliate managers about their thought on this ..

This all boils down to what details they give when they sign up. Yellow bands tend to get more privilege, I know what I'd say I was to get a free pass.

    Thanks Martyn

Agree I am not saying take away any privileges give the Third Tier the same .. Free Free Free .. but it would allow for affiliate managers an easier way to distinguish between actual affiliates and other potential business partners and avenues ..

I totally agree and have been saying this for a long time.

It's quite annoying when you go up to someone and start chatting only to be told "sorry I'm an operator".

Then why the hell are you wearing a yellow wristband?!

I always assumed the affiliate band was for people who registered their site when signing up ,maybe that was for the Vegas one we went to a couple years ago.On a serious note maybe a seperate color for those who provide services to affiliates (Coding ,contest etc)

Most affiliates don't like being attacked by the red bands all day. They will also try to get one of those green wristbands to be able to walk around in peace and get a relaxed drink.

It is, but anyone who is not an operator gets put into the yellow group too.
I think if the name tag showed the affiliate website it would make it easier to distinguish but it shows the company name and unless you know the company name of an affiliate it's hard to just guess unless it's really obvious in the name.

Yes, would be great. Even greater if there were special wristbands for CASINO affiliates
I don't have a problem with operators disguised in affiliate, but I bump onto real affiliates, but doing poker, sportsbook, mailers or binary.

Some people do have different roles or different websites in different niches. I did not attend many conferences, but I do fully understand why some affiliates try to not walk with a red rag.

I am quite looking forward to the AAC - I have a million ways to say NO - some polite some not so polite (but almost never nasty).
And 99% of approaches end in no. We have about 20 spots - and there are 2000+ potential partner - so it has to be that way.

I have a favourite phrase that is special code in the office, it sounds friendly and polite but it means NO WAY - NOT NOW - NOT EVER !!!
It always gets a smile when I use it on the phone or in a meeting .. because it's a clear signal of no business to be done ever!

    Which is totally acceptable.
If someone tells me they have a meeting, I don't keep yapping.

My first question when I talk to someone in yellow now is, are you a casino affiliate?
They say yes or no then the conversation progresses or is over. Efficiency at its best.
