Affiliate Lounge in Vegas - 40% Commissions, Costa Rica trip

Hey all,

Just a quick note to any affiliates, whether or not you're currently with the Affiliate Lounge, that we'll be offering no-hassle 40% commissions for the entire month of October simply for stopping by our booth (#545) at the Global Gaming Expo this week in Las Vegas. Find us in the Interactive section and say hello - we'll be sharing a booth with our parent company Net Entertainment, who will be exhibiting their Casino Module product.

This is only meant as constructive criticism and nothing personal but Vegas is a long way and a fair chunk of money for some of us that don't live in North America. For me it is probably over US$1400 to get there (airfares only) and a day each way to travel. It seems a bit unfair that you are willing to give an extra percentage to people who can make it there.

Now this would come with more weight if I was making serious dollars for you, however, you are willing to offer new affiliates the extra without making sure you look after some of your existing affiliates. Any marketing types want to expand on the statistics about looking after existing relationships versus cultivating new ones and their relative values?

To be honest, I'm a bit surprised at the reaction here. Offering exclusive promotions is nothing new in any industry, and certainly not amongst companies exhibiting at trade shows. I apologize to everyone that feels this is unfair, but I've also noted that there will be other opportunities coming very soon for other affiliates to earn extra commissions and other prizes.

Please bear with us, promotions will continue to arise and everyone will have their chance. This promotion in particular is simply meant to separate us from the others exhibiting here.

Point taken and no offense was meant. Just a case of us non US/Canada people being ignored a few times too many. As an example, another affiliate program is offering a few goodies to affiliates (not much value but still something), but read the fine print and anyone outside the US has to pay postage.

This doesn't change my favourable opinion of your program, and I look forward to a few other promos in the future.

My opinion my also be the only one, as it's well known that we don't always agree with each other in here.....

No, you're not the only one that feels that way, Jarvi. That's what Universal4 was saying in his offhanded way, and I hear this everytime there's a conference.

I completely understand what you're saying also, Rick, but there are many faithful and productive affiliates that don't make it to these conferences for one reason or another that feel left out when programs give special commission breaks only to those who attend the conferences. It's like "Ok, we're here working away, and they're there farting around, and they're the ones that get the special commission??". (But you're not the only one that's ever done this. )
