What are the key differences between CasinoEuro, Cherry Casino and the Betsson casinos? What is the target audience for each of the brands? Are affiliates generally more successful in picking one of the brands and marketing that or have they found success in marketing all of them at once?
Cherry Casino has proven to be more successful in North America, while CasinoEuro is targeted more towards the European market. Betsson offers more products than CasinoEuro and Cherry Casino and has mostly Scandinavian players, although growth is rapid in Eastern Europe and European in general due to the fact that Betsson was recently translated into Italian, Spanish, Greek and other languages. Most affiliates promote both Cherry Casino and CasinoEuro, but not Betsson or vice versa, simply because the products differ remarkably.

Betsson offers a betting exchange. How is affiliate marketing for an exchange different than marketing for a sportsbook?
Our affiliates prefer to focus on the sportbook as opposed to the betting exchange as there is more revenue to be earned from the sportsbook. What’s your next big purchase (personal)?
I am still happy with my latest investment – an old bicycle that I use everyday to get to work, on time I might add. But the next thing I buy will probably be new fishing equipment.

What songs are currently on your iPod (or mp3 player)?
A mix of old favorites like Sinatra, Dave Matthews, REM, but also house music and other summer hits to remember my recent trip to France by.

Could you please share three or four lessons that you’ve learned in adapting to adjustments in the online gaming market?
  • Work on your ability to let go of things and to start over, preferably with a smile on your face!
  • Adjustments and changes will always occur!
  • Don’t be surprised when those changes occur and learn how to be one step ahead to turn those market changes into possibilities.
How does marketing to the European market differ from marketing to the U.S. market?
There are great differences, I believe. However I have never worked in the U.S. market. Prior to the shutdown, less than one percent of Betsson players were based in the U.S.

What kinds of marketing tools do you offer to help affiliates?
As of today we have banners, links and other basic marketing tools in Affiliate Lounge, accessible to all our affiliates from day one, but we also have the opportunity to customize banners as well as promotions. Our great content group provides us with first class material according to our client’s requests and we can also offer branded material as prizes. Our strength is that we do everything according to our customers’ requests!

What was your favorite subject in school? And why was it your favorite subject?
I would have to say gym because I couldn’t sit still as a kid and also because of my passion for soccer.

What’s the key to building successful relationships between affiliates and affiliate programs?
To get to know each other on a personal level.

How did you get started in this business?
Randomly! I have education in marketing which helped, but I had recently moved back to Sweden after fours years in the U.S. and met with my present supervisor who had a similar background which turned out to be enough.

What’s the first concert you attended in person?
Michael Jackson, live in Stockholm in 1992!

What are your three keys to success for an affiliate?
Hard work, customer care and marketing skills/effort.

What’s the most amount of money you’ve ever won at a casino?
Ask me again after my next trip to Vegas…

Please describe your ideal day off.
The ideal day off would be on a boat with the boys out in the Stockholm archipelago, with lots of beer!

What's your favorite movie and why?
Definitely the hardest question… It would probably be one of the “Frat pack” movies (Old School, Wedding Crasher, Starsky and Hutch, Zoolander etc.) simply because they make me laugh!

If you could only invite five people throughout history to an event in Sweden, what would the event be? Who would you invite? And why?
I am sure most people would say Jesus, Buddha, Dalai Lama etc but I´d prefer a good laugh. I would invite Paul Gascoine, Robbin Williams, Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn to a traditional Swedish “Midsommar” party here in Stockholm in June. It can’t fail…
