Affiliate SPAM Abuse - How To Escalate

Hello everyone;

Looking for some advice on handling affiliate spam abuse. My personal email account receives several messages a day from an affiliate and I'm at a loss how to get it to stop. I know that the messages are spam because the sender's domain does not have a webpage. I have contacted the casinos they are promoting and have been assured I am not on their email lists. I have also contacted the affiliate manager for these casinos and been assured more than once that they have been dealt with. Since I am still getting the spam I am guessing that the affiliate is bringing in too much revenue for the "no spam" policy to apply.

What's the next step in escalating the issue? Licensing authority?

Not receiving a response on this thread, particularly from industry reps, is very disappointing. Seems to suggest that SPAM abuse is entirely acceptable as long as it brings in the revenue. Surely such programs are in violation of the GPWA sponsorship rules?

The first thing you should do is complain to the relevant program that is very important . They should then do a proper investigation into the source and the proper action should be taken if that does not help Casinomeister always seems to get a response . Just be sure that you have not opted in to any Email marketing Via websites or Forums etc as if you have that then may open yourself up to getting mailed even if its not what you intended .. some companies own multiple sites in an advertising network you ma have agreed to get mail from a Sports Or news site etc but the fine print then says they can send you material from any of there other sources Email marketing is such a hard thing to police in my opinion say for example and this is just that an email marketer has 20 000 Emails that are Opt it . Your email was one of these but you are Adamant that you never signed up for this information that you never signed up to receive an email from this person on the company he represents and you get hit with an email and are the only person that complains its Spam does 1 in 20 000 make all his emails Spam ? Just a question is there any acceptable ratio ? Good luck

Have you been forwarding the ENTIRE email to the affiliate programs?
Have you checked the redirected affiliate links in question and determined it is the same affiliate codes?

It could just be a case of MANY different affiliates sending spam for the same group.

What is the group being promoted? Is it a group that is normally sensitive to the issue and actually does take action?

Anyone that send blind email to any "list" purchased, rented or otherwise traded for in any manner that did not generate the list themselves is a spammer whether they call themselves an opt in marketer or not...

The only way a list is opt in is of a person visits a web site and opt's in for specific information from specific companies or individuals...and just because I have a list of gambling related domains and someone gets a hold of my email account, they do NOT have the right pr my permission to add that email account to any list the want to sell or rent and call it opt in, and anyone that purchases and then mails to that list is a spammer...not an email marketer..
