After an 18-month investigation, Albany County Sherrif's deputies say they have broken up an Internet gambling operation that took millions in bets.

Police say the ringleader, George Bedigian, of Syracuse, employed the others to run a sports betting ring through the off-shore website linewiz.com.

Through the ring, customers were illegally betting millions.

Albany County Sheriff James Campbell says, "This is probably the biggest gambling operation that we've seen, especially our department here in the Capital District, there were over $50 million dollars a year being bet on all types of sports events ranging from baseball to basketball to football."
