Allow me to introduce myself. I'm obviously new here !

I've been designing sites since May 2000, what started as a hobby now supports six households. I'm retired and am working more than ever!

In Nov 2005 I entered the adult realm as a way to market some scripts we had developed for the midscale (entry level) sales force clients. (mostly realtors)

As it turned out the adult marketing proved to be quite the challenge! But, since I didn't really care about selling flesh (only wanting to sell our scripts to WMs) I stopped listening to the adult 'gurus' and applied proven mainstream sales tactics. Short story? It worked great and continues to do so.

Brief bio: I retired in May of 2000 from commercial printing, happily married for 21 years, more happily divorced for 15 years, 2 daughters, 2 sons, 1 grand-daughter, 1 grandson.

Why I'm here: To pursue yet another challenge in marketing. I don't have a site yet but you can monitor my progress at www[dot]bigbucksgaming.com/index.php (which will go live when I find 2-3 honest sponsers!)

I hope to learn much here as I have lurked around and found this to be the cutting edge forum for the venue. I want to join the private forum(s) but I'm not sure I qualify as of yet. Input?

You're a website designer right? OK, won't take you too long to get a site up and running. Sponsors? Unlikely until the site is mature but you can easily sign up at a few programs on an affiliate (commission) basis. THis has generally proven to be the most profitable avenue anyway.

Private forums? The official line is 3 months of website in operation.

We would want to see that you are serious about doing the business of casino affiliate marketing so of course, we DO tend to draw conclusions from the website and its content. We will check for originality, (and by implication verify that content is not copied) and effort. With those reflected, the chances are that you will find a welcome e-mail in your inbox.

Missed the Blasters link. Good choice. They retain players and especially high rollers rather well (indicates decent customer support). Can be difficult to sell given that so many people already have accounts at their properties! LOL

I too think that Casino Blasters is a good choice. And yes, they can be more difficult to convert but when they do the player value is normally worth the extra mile for them.

You also don't hear many Webmasters complaining about tracking issues with them which for me is always a good sign.

Right now, until I find the right sponsers, I'm focused on lay-out, navigation, colors. Most of the backend stuff is done, and I've already submitted a sitemap to G.

Thanks for your welcome response Brian. I had hoped to enter the prv forums sooner than 3 months to garner more marketing info. Mostly who to avoid as far as sponsers, scammers, shavers, sneaky WMs, etc. I'll apply as soon as that time passes.

Information about the spammers and so forth will be given to you here as well as in the private forums. The private forums are generally a space where the world is excluded and we can talk freely but we are not withholding information about bad casinos or programs from visiting webmasters. LOL

Hey BigBucks, welcome to the wonderful world of online gambling marketing!! I'm also more happily divorced, and staying that way!!

I just want to clarify some terminology you're using - Sponsor vs. Affiliate. There are a lot of gambling portal owners who use the word "sponsor", when what they're talking about is really "affiliate".

Affiliate - Nearly all casinos have an affiliate program where the affiliate markets the casino and is paid a commission on performance; and nearly all of them will allow just about anyone to sign up no matter how long their site's been online. Although being paid on commission seems unstable to some, it's proven itself to make the most money for the webmasters. Here at GPWA, we're 99.999% affiliates.

Sponsor - This term is used by a lot of affiliates when they're talking about the programs they're marketing for. I've never really been clear on why they use that term, as it connotes an entirely different type of relationship to me, and I've never been sure whether they're talking about being an affiliate, or selling paid advertising.

Media Sellers - These are the portals that only sell paid advertising to the casinos, and don't generally participate in commission programs. In order to sell advertising, you generally have to have a very large & highly active site, with a proven track record. The good casinos won't pay for advertising at anything less than that.

Also, just so you know, the majority of the online casinos are pretty honest these days, thanks to webmaster organizations like GPWA.

You'll also find that some programs do tremendously well on some sites, and nothing on others; for example, while many webmasters swear by Casino Blasters, I couldn't sell them if I PAID people to play there! Not to worry, I have plenty of other programs that do well enough for me. It's the same for every site, and we've never been able to figure out why.
